What should have been a time of celebration has turned into an ever-growing pile of complaints from all corners. It&rsquo;s seen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2020\/12\/18\/ps4-cyberpunk-2077-refund-sony\/\">the game pulled from PlayStation stores<\/a> and a mass of refunds requests, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2020\/12\/15\/cyberpunk-2077-ps4-xbox-one-not-enough-dev-time\/\">especially from previous-gen players.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/6BE7HTxE94I?start=5&amp;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>However, it could be about to face its most potent detractors &ndash; it&rsquo;s investors. According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/12\/19\/style\/cyberpunk-2077-video-game-disaster.html\">New York Times<\/a> (via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.videogameschronicle.com\/news\/cd-projekt-could-face-investor-legal-action-over-cyberpunk-misrepresentation\/\">VGC<\/a>), <a href=\"https:\/\/m.bankier.pl\/forum\/post\/42802735?fbclid=IwAR15qwLDB6K5PP6uMR6InZyg-yUhk87Iyh5MBpu1ozlyLXoxRE1zaq_3uT4\">a Warsaw-based investor and lawyer<\/a> is said to be considering a class-action lawsuit against the company. This will depend on if they would be able to prove that CD Projekt &ldquo;misrepresentation in order to receive financial benefits.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, New York investor Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman &amp; Herz LLP said (via <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/cd-projekt-sa-class-action-043000021.html\">Yahoo! Finance<\/a>) that it was also considering a case and looking to bring in other investors to prosecute.<\/p>\n<p>They are investigating the legality of the case on the grounds of &ldquo;allegations that CD Projekt may have issued materially misleading information to their shareholders and investing public.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The biggest issue for investors seems to be down to Sony deciding to take the game off of the PlayStation Store, which will see a loss of revenue. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2020\/12\/20\/xbox-now-offering-cyberpunk-2077-refunds-not-taking-game-store\/\">That has been compounded as the developer has said players can ask for a refund.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s hard to say how seriously hard any of these could actually go in a court of law. Regardless it&rsquo;s not a great look either way.
