And it&rsquo;s why Nintendo Switch is so differentiated.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>To put it simply, Bowser believes the Nintendo Switch family of consoles is still going strong and that there&rsquo;s no immediate reason to replace the hardware with another model whilst it still holds such a strong position on the market.<\/p>\n<p>The console even&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2020\/12\/11\/nintendo-switch-ps5-xbox-series-x-s-us-sales\/\">outsold the PS5 and the Xbox Series X\/S<\/a> in the US during the next-gen consoles&rsquo; launch months, after all.<\/p>\n<p>Bowser&rsquo;s comments do somewhat contradict a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2020-09-09\/nintendo-said-to-boost-switch-production-by-another-20\">Bloomberg<\/a> report that suggested&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2020\/09\/09\/nintendo-switch-4k-ready-report\/\">Nintendo had asked devs to make their games 4K-ready for an upcoming Switch hardware refresh<\/a>, but if the president of Nintendo of America says the company isn&rsquo;t interested in a hardware refresh for the foreseeable future, he&rsquo;s probably not lying.<\/p>\n<p>As of September 2020,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2020\/11\/05\/nintendo-switch-70m-worldwide-sales\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">Nintendo Switch has sold 68.3 million units<\/a>&nbsp;around the world.<\/p>\n<p>The post <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2020\/12\/21\/nintendo-switch-halfway-life-cycle\/\">Nintendo Switch is &#8220;halfway through its life&#8221;
