As we enter a new generation of consoles, expectations of the advancements in\u00a0video game graphics<\/a>, gameplay and overall quality have never been higher. Gamers are constantly looking towards the future, often having lofty expectations for the next release of an upcoming franchise.<\/p>\n

While the latest entry in the series just launched in August of 2020, the developers of\u00a0Project CARS 4\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>are already looking towards the future. It would also appear that,\u00a0Ian Bell, the CEO of Slightly Mad Studios, is already making some extremely confident, if not assertive, claims about the next entry in this franchise.<\/p>\n

In a stream of now deleted Tweets, Mr. Bell stated the new features that he felt would make\u00a0Project Cars 4\u00a0<\/em>the most realistic simulation ever.\u00a0 The first Tweet, showcased the rendering of unique shadows for each leaf on the displayed trees, a possible indication of real time ray tracing<\/a>. His next Tweet showed the ability of in game objects such as leaves to feel the impact and motion of passing cars, using a system known as bump-mapping. In other now deleted Tweets, Mr. Bell went on to say \u201cNo-one will touch us with pCARS4\u201d going even further in saying \u201cGiven player and fan feedback, we\u2019re dialing realism up to 11 this time. We\u2019re going nads to the wall in every single area you can think of!”<\/p>\n

Project CARS 3<\/em><\/a>, currently is sitting at a 69% on Metacritic where reviews have ranged from positive to mixed. Having implemented the design decision to remove pit stops from the racing simulator, many fans were not happy with both this action and lack of communication about the change from developer Slightly Mad Studios. Other controversial changes included\u00a0tires never experiencing wear and cars never needing fuel or repairs, among others alterations.<\/p>\n

Fans of the\u00a0Project Cars<\/em> franchise have been given reason to hope that the future may very well be brighter than ever for the racing game and its attempt to become one of the best racing franchises available<\/a>. It will be interesting to see if the final product can live up to the lofty early development claims.<\/p>\n

Project Cars 3<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.<\/p>\n
