However, for those looking to battle the notorious <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-team-rocket-memes\/\">Team Rocket<\/a> or face the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-elite-four-pro-tips\/\">Elite Four,<\/a> having a robust Pok\u00e9mon lineup is essential.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/every-pseudo-legendary-pokemon-ranked\/\">Every Pseudo-Legendary Pok\u00e9mon, Ranked<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The first generation of the\u00a0<em>Pok\u00e9mon<\/em>\u00a0games had the most memorable and unforgettable designs. <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-adorable-pikachu-memes\/\">Pok\u00e9mon like Charizard and Pikachu\u00a0became\u00a0mascots for the series,<\/a> whereas there are lesser-known Pok\u00e9mon for good reasons. Balancing made each Pok\u00e9mon close in combat power,\u00a0aside from a few exceptions. Master trainers can save plenty of time by avoiding these Pok\u00e9mon. They give you few experience points\u00a0in a battle, and they are subpar additions to\u00a0a lineup.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">10 <\/span>Rattata<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Pokemon-Rattata.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Rattata is one of the earliest Pok\u00e9mon encounters in the first generation games. This Pok\u00e9mon is much like normal rodents. According to<em> Pok\u00e9mon Yellow&#8217;s<\/em> Pok\u00e9dex entry, &#8220;Will chew on anything with its fangs. If you see one, it is certain that 40 more live in the area.&#8221; The Pok\u00e9dex explains that Rattata is common in the <em>Pok\u00e9mon<\/em> world. Rarity doesn&#8217;t mean everything, but this mouse Pok\u00e9mon is neither strong nor capable of battling the Elite Four.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">9 <\/span>Kangaskhan<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/5-Pok--mon-Lets-Go-Kangaskhan.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>This ferocious Pok\u00e9mon is found only in a small section of the Safari Zone. Despite this, many opt to find a different Pok\u00e9mon. This Pok\u00e9mon&#8217;s stats and moveset are inferior to other top-tiers.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">8 <\/span>Mr. Mime<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/1-Pok--mon-Lets-Go-Mr.-Mime.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Mr. Mime is a Pok\u00e9mon that resembles a clown. You probably want to see Mr. Mime at a birthday party, but not amid a battle with pseudo-legendary Pok\u00e9mon. This is one of those Pok\u00e9mon that is often overlooked, given its rarity. In <em>Pok\u00e9mon<\/em> Generation I, players can find Mr. Mime only by trading on Route 2. The type of Pok\u00e9mon you have to give up varies depending on the Generation I game. Given that it&#8217;s a one-stage Pok\u00e9mon, Mr. Mime is the least desired Psychic-type.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">7 <\/span>Jynx<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static2.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Jynx-1.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Resembling a woman, Jynx has a purple face and long hair. Jynx has a slight edge on Mr. Mime for being a dual-type Ice-type and Psychic-type, but it&#8217;s hard to ignore the shortcomings of this Pok\u00e9mon. It speaks a language that sounds familiar, although people haven&#8217;t been able to decipher its language. In the first generation, Jynx was a one-stage Pok\u00e9mon. The design of Jynx has changed slightly over the years, but it still proves ineffective on a lineup.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">6 <\/span>Magikarp<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static2.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/magikarp.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>As a Pok\u00e9mon with a minimal move set, Magikarp could be considered <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/most-useless-pokemon-ranked\/\">the worst Pok\u00e9mon in the game.<\/a> Thankfully, Magikarp evolves into one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/most-expensive-pokemon-cards-ever-sold\/\">game&#8217;s most powerful Pok\u00e9mon<\/a> at level 20. The headache of trying to raise a Magikarp is worth the wait to get a Gyarados. Looking at the Pok\u00e9mon as a single fish with moves like Splash and Tackle, Magikarp falls behind expectations.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">5 <\/span>Farfetch&#8217;d<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Farfetchd.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>This is one of the many non-evolving Pok\u00e9mon of the first generation. Farfetch&#8217;d is seen holding a spring onion or a leek stalk. Plenty of people are amused by this bird&#8217;s appearance and mannerisms, but it&#8217;s the combat power of Farfetch&#8217;d that is deeply troubling. The most powerful move this <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-strongest-non-legendary-dont-evolve-ranked\/\">Pok\u00e9mon can learn by leveling up is Slash,<\/a> a 70 power attack. Its Normal-type attacks are no match for almost any Electric or Ice-type.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">4 <\/span>Onix<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static2.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rock-pokemon-toughest-onix-3.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Onix is one of the first Pok\u00e9mon to appear in the anime and video games. Never before did we know that a Pok\u00e9mon could be as colossal. Most assume this is a powerful Pok\u00e9mon, especially with a<em> Pok\u00e9mon Red and Blue<\/em> Pok\u00e9dex entry that reads, &#8220;As it grows, the stone portions of its body harden to become similar to a diamond, but colored black.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/brocks-first-pokemon-ranked\/\">Brock&#8217;s First 10 Pok\u00e9mon, Ranked<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>For a Pok\u00e9mon built-up to be as hard as diamonds, Onix falls short of assumptions. An average Squirtle or Bulbasaur can take this Pok\u00e9mon down with ease.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">3 <\/span>Lickitung<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/pokemon-go-lickitung.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Besides being the mascot of a mini-game in\u00a0<em>Pok\u00e9mon Stadium,\u00a0<\/em>Lickitung has been mostly ignored in the anime and <em>Pok\u00e9mon<\/em> games. Normal-types are often sidelined because they aren&#8217;t super effective against elements. It&#8217;s normally effective against every element, but it&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/most-brawny-fighting-type-pokemon-ranked\/\">weak against the Fighting-type.<\/a> Aside from having a comically massive tongue that it uses as a weapon, there are few ways for this Pok\u00e9mon to win battles.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">2 <\/span>Tangela<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static2.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/tangela.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>This Pok\u00e9mon isn&#8217;t tangled in a knot; this is its appearance. Tangela is one of the most forgettable <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-facts-you-didnt-know-about-kanto\/\">Pok\u00e9mon in the Kanto Pok\u00e9dex.<\/a> It&#8217;s a <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-grass-type-memes\/\">pure Grass-type<\/a> that cannot evolve. The base stats of a Tangela are low, which is why most trainers catch it for the Pok\u00e9dex entry, then stick it in a PC box. Compared to other Grass-types, Tangela is less powerful but more mysterious. What is underneath those vines?<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">1 <\/span>Zubat<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Pokemon-Zubat.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Zubats fly in swarms in most caves of the <em>Pok\u00e9mon<\/em> first generation games. <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-inspired-by-real-animals\/\">These bat-like creatures<\/a> can be frightening to the average trainer, despite being <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-sword-shield-weakest-galar-ranked-pokedex-galarian-magikarp\/\">one of the weakest Pok\u00e9mon<\/a> in the games. Defeating Zubat rewards players with a small number of experience points. The\u00a0common theme here is that Zubat is not beneficial to fight with or against.
