The\u00a0developer&#8217;s latest PR move comes in the form of sending prominent players, streamers, and influencers themed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/fortnite\/\"><em>Fortnite<\/em><\/a> gear.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/epic-games-fortnite-apple-lawsuit\/\">Epic initially announced its lawsuit<\/a>\u00a0against the tech giant back in August, claiming the App Store to be &#8220;oppressive&#8221; in its 30 percent cut of app and in-app purchases. Since then, a legal battle has embroiled the two companies, with no apparent concessions from either party involved.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fortnite-launches-operation-snowdown-event\/\">Fortnite Launches Operation Snowdown Event<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Apple-themed <em>Fortnite<\/em> gear is the developer&#8217;s\u00a0latest effort to bring more attention to\u00a0the game&#8217;s absence on iOS. Epic sent packages including branded items \u2014\u00a0like a jacket featuring the campaign&#8217;s branding as well as a Samsung Galaxy S7 tablet \u2014 to high-profile individuals in the gaming industry. The jacket features a silhouette of the\u00a0<em>Fortnite<\/em> llama, emulating Apple&#8217;s old rainbow logo. Also included with the package comes a card from Epic Games asking players to re-involve themselves with the ongoing effort to get the battle royale back on\u00a0iOS devices. This isn&#8217;t the first time Epic Games has released what can be interpreted as a call to action, with Apple previously accusing the developer of <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/epic-tim-sweeney-weaponize-fans-response\/\">weaponizing <em>Fortnite<\/em> fans against it<\/a>. Kinda Funny&#8217;s Greg Miller took to Twitter to post some pictures\u00a0of the unexpected package.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GameOverGreggy\/status\/1341118795629228033\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0gear&#8217;s package design is unmistakably Apple-themed. The white boxes with minimal lettering and the game&#8217;s converted llama logo are the biggest indicators. It appears that\u00a0<em>Fortnite\u00a0<\/em>is sticking to <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fortnite-apple-short-1984\/\">the\u00a0<em>1984-<\/em>themed marketing it began with<\/a>. Not only is the llama logo the era-appropriate rainbow, but the\u00a0font on the box features serifs, something the tech company has since moved away from.<\/p>\n<p>Judging by this most recent move, it would appear there&#8217;s still no love lost between the two huge companies. Epic\u00a0is continuing in its efforts that many gamers would say directly antagonizes Apple, releasing mockingly-themed gear. The jacket does appear to have all the same features as the\u00a0hats that\u00a0were given out as part of <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/free-fortnite-cup-epic-games-apple\/\">the &#8220;Free Fortnite&#8221; Cup<\/a> in August.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately,\u00a0<em>Fortnite<\/em> still remains off of the App Store, and judging by how things are going, it&#8217;s staying that way. Apple did announce that it was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/apples-reduced-fees-developers-2021-2-percent\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reducing fees for developers in 2021<\/a>, halving its take from third-party app purchases. However, this only applies to games that make under $1 million in revenue.
