Right now, Blizzard is running one of its best Overwatch<\/em><\/strong> promotions ever. All of the usual advantages of a non-limited Overwatch<\/em> free trial are here. Players will have access to the full game, meaning they’ll be able to use all 32 heroes and 28 maps, including the new Kanezaka Deathmatch map<\/a>. Also, should they purchase the game, all of the progress they made during the free trial will transfer over. They just need to make sure the game is purchased on their account.<\/p>\n

As for what makes the promotional unique, the free-to-play period is longer than normal, spanning two full weeks. Specifically, the trial ends on January 4, the same time Overwatch<\/em>‘s 2020 Winter Wonderland event ends<\/a>. Blizzard only usually runs free Overwatch<\/em> trials for the duration of a weekend. The only exceptions to this are Overwatch<\/em> anniversary events \u2014 where the game becomes free to play for a week \u2014 and\u00a0the one time Blizzard made it free to play for a whole month in China, back in 2017.<\/p>\n

The other unique aspect is the on-sale deal, which ends on January 4 for PC and January 9 for consoles. Until those dates, Overwatch<\/em> is on sale for half off its usual price. The exact discount amount depends on what version of Overwatch<\/em> players are looking to buy and what gaming machine they’re looking to buy it on. That said, it’s important to know that Blizzard isn’t running a deal for the Nintendo Switch version of Overwatch<\/em><\/a>, so “consoles,” in this instance, refers to the PS4 and the Xbox One.<\/p>\n

On PC, the standard version of Overwatch<\/em> is 25% off, while Overwatch: Legendary Edition<\/em> is 50%. On consoles, only the legendary edition is on sale, and it is so for 67% off. Respectively then, PC’s standard costs $14.99 while Legendary<\/em> costs $19.99, and the consoles’ Legendary<\/em> cost $19.79. As for the difference between standard and Legendary<\/em>, it’s mainly just Hero skins. However, it offers a bonus for other Blizzard games as well, such as World of Warcraft<\/em> and Diablo 3<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Again, this is probably the best Overwatch<\/em> promotion Blizzard<\/a> has ever done for the game. Anyone that hasn’t owned Overwatch<\/em> before has two weeks to take it for a test drive and see if they like it. If they do, they don’t even have to pay full price. Anyone interested in getting the game as a gift for someone else can put that individual on to the two-week trial and then buy it for them for a steal.<\/p>\n
