The latest skin coming to Fortnite<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0is revealed to be none other than DC Comics’ Green Arrow. The\u00a0comic book archer will arrive in the battle royale later this month, but there’s a catch.<\/p>\n

Epic Games’ popular battle royale title looks to be continuing its trend of adding\u00a0characters from various comic book properties to its roster. Just a few days ago,\u00a0Epic\u00a0released a trailer revealing Black Panther and more Marvel characters<\/a> are coming to the game. Now, it seems DC is also getting back into the mix.<\/p>\n

Detailed on Epic Games’ website, The Emerald Archer will be arriving in-game on December 31 at 4:00 p.m. PST. Compared to most of the other comic book-accurate skins, it appears Fortnite <\/em>decided to go the live-action route.\u00a0The skin is modeled after actor Stephen Amell from the popular\u00a0Arrow\u00a0<\/em>TV series<\/a>, which wrapped up its eighth and final season earlier this year.\u00a0Green Arrow brought his supplies as well, including a Tactical Quiver Back Bling and a Boxing Glove Pickaxe. However, there is one stipulation for\u00a0Fortnite<\/em> fans to\u00a0get the character – signing up for Fortnite <\/em>Crew.<\/p>\n

Fortnite<\/em> Crew is a new subscription service<\/a> from Epic that gives subscribers 1,000 V-Bucks every month, in addition to exclusive skins and access to the Battle Pass. The\u00a0subscription costs players $11.99 a month, and their mileage may vary depending on the type of gamer. Green Arrow is the exclusive Crew pack for January 2021, its second overall.\u00a0The subscription service\u00a0launched just this month with an original, space-themed character named Galaxia. However,\u00a0it looks like\u00a0Fortnite<\/em> is also releasing\u00a0characters from other properties through this method as well.<\/p>\n

It’s a good sign to see more characters from DC Comics enter the fray. The past season’s focus had been\u00a0primarily on Marvel heroes and villains, so perhaps it’s DC’s time to shine. The last time a DC character was\u00a0announced was with the Joker-themed cosmetic bundle<\/a> back in August. Although the announcement of Oliver Queen is now official,\u00a0there was a Green Arrow skin leak about a week ago. However, his exclusivity with\u00a0Fortnite<\/em> Crew will likely come as news to fans.<\/p>\n

Chapter 2 Season 5 of\u00a0Fortnite<\/em><\/a> has brought\u00a0quite a few\u00a0changes to the battle royale. In addition to introducing a\u00a0bunch of new mechanics, Epic continues to add characters from unexpected places. These include\u00a0God of War’<\/em>s Kratos,\u00a0Halo<\/em>‘s Master Chief, Daryl and Michonne from\u00a0The Walking Dead,\u00a0<\/em>and now DC’s Green Arrow. It’s anybody’s guess who will get brought in next.<\/p>\n

Fortnite<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series\u00a0X\/S.<\/p>\n
