We&rsquo;ve had the likes of&nbsp;Animal Crossing: New Horizons, The Last of Us Part 2, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Hades, and more besides to keep us entertained throughout the past 12 months.<\/p>\n<p>But everything in the world is balanced: for all the ups, there have to be some downs. To illustrate that point quite frankly and bluntly for us, Metacritic has released its annual report of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metacritic.com\/pictures\/worst-videogames-of-2020\">lowest-rated games of the year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/RtvLVDokXpU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Here&rsquo;s how they stack up:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tiny Racer (Switch)<\/li>\n<li>XIII Remake (Xbox One)<\/li>\n<li>Dawn of Fear (PS4)<\/li>\n<li>Fast &amp; Furious Crossroads (PC)<\/li>\n<li>Arc of Alchemist (Switch)<\/li>\n<li>Remothered: Broken Porcelain (PC)<\/li>\n<li>Tamarin (PS4)<\/li>\n<li>Street Power Soccer (PS4)<\/li>\n<li>Gleamlight (Switch)<\/li>\n<li>The Elder Scrolls: Blades (Switch)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Though most of the games are &ndash; understandably &ndash; quite obscure, there are some notable names in there.<\/p>\n<p>Fast &amp; Furious Crossroads (from Bandai Namco) and&nbsp;The Elder Scrolls: Blades (Bethesda) are both fairly high-profile games from major publishers. So it&rsquo;s pretty damning to see them arrive down here, at the bottom of Metacritic&rsquo;s yearly list.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Games are ranked by Metascore (as of December 15, 2020) prior to rounding, and any titles with fewer than 7 reviews from professional critics are excluded,&rdquo; the site says.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;If a single title would have landed on the list multiple times due to low scores on more than one platform, we only included the lowest-scoring version.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>As such, it&rsquo;s worth noting that the Switch version of Blades is the one listed here: it runs fairly well on iOS and Android, but the Switch version is infamously pretty appalling.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to wrap your eyes around something more positive, you can check out our various Game of the Year lists.
