Despite being\u00a0over 3 years old, the Nintendo Switch<\/a>\u00a0already contains a variety of bundles and skins, along with a more compact, entry-level “Lite<\/a>” version. This isn’t surprising, given the versatility and interchangeable components of the hardware which make it ideal for customizable features and additions.<\/p>\n

Not only do these bundles offer a range of included games and extras, they often come as exclusives to certain stores, further complicating things. With all these variables, it\u00a0can be difficult for gamers to keep track of it all and gage what the best value is, while also<\/em> factoring in the designs.<\/p>\n

With this list, we’ll rank the overall best bundles for Nintendo’s hybrid console; factoring in the games, price, and sleekness of any custom skins included. These will include both current bundles as well as those that have seen limited releases and have since been discontinued.<\/p>\n

Updated December 25th, 2020:<\/strong> The past year has been particularly troubling for the world, but many gamers found solace during lockdown with the likes of Nintendo Switch titles such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons<\/a>.\u00a0As a result of the massive popularity of this particular title, the Nintendo Switch saw sales boom and so the past year has seen plenty of new players join the Nintendo family.<\/em><\/p>\n

Whether\u00a0players\u00a0are long time fans of the console or newcomers to the Switch party, there have been a number of limited edition Nintendo Switch consoles since\u00a0the initial launch that have been able to tempt plenty of people into purchasing them. Check out these awesome designs!<\/em><\/p>\n

13 <\/span>Splatoon 2<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The limited-edition Splatoon 2<\/em><\/a> Nintendo Switch console was a Walmart exclusive and had an RRP of $380. It came with a digital download of the game, a Splatoon<\/em><\/a>-themed carry case, and neon-colored joy-cons in green and pink. Other than this, the console is the same as any other standard Switch, and the joy-cons in these colors were eventually released separately for $80.<\/p>\n

As the joy-cons<\/a> can be bought separately, this limited-edition console is the worst out of all the limited-edition versions released to date, as you could easily turn your standard Switch into this version by just buying the joy-cons.<\/p>\n

12 <\/span>Super Mario Odyssey<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

When Super Mario Odyssey<\/em><\/a> released in 2017, Nintendo also released a limited edition Nintendo Switch console for the occasion for $380. The console came with two Cappy-red joy-cons, the only way to get official joy-cons in this color, but other than that, the console was fairly standard.<\/p>\n

The console did include a full game download of Odyssey<\/em><\/a>, and there was also a rather nice carry case that came with it too. However, as far as limited edition consoles go, this one is particularly lackluster.<\/p>\n

11 <\/span>Fortnite<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Released earlier this year, this Fortnite<\/em><\/a> limited edition Nintendo Switch console has a more subtle design than some of the other limited edition consoles, but it still works quite well. This is the only way to get blue and yellow joy-cons, and the little bus over the home button is a nice touch.<\/p>\n

This console retails at $300, which is standard RRP for a normal Nintendo Switch console, so at least fans weren’t charged extra considering the minimalistic design.\u00a0Fortnite<\/em> is pre-installed on this console and it also comes with the Wildcat Bundle and 2,000 V-bucks.<\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Animal Crossing: New Horizons Bundle<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Animal Crossing: New Horizons\u00a0<\/em>was one of the hottest games to release this year\u00a0<\/em>and many\u00a0fans were delighted to see a limited edition and adorably cute custom-designed console. However, it’s likely only the diehard enthusiasts of the game that\u00a0found much value in this one, as it’s essentially just a painted Switch that merely comes with the usual components.<\/p>\n

And it’s not like the skin is a particularly appealing design. It’s important to note that the\u00a0game itself was\u00a0not<\/em> be included in the American version of this package – though it was in the Japanese and European bundle. Still, at least it still costs the same as the default Switch model at $300.<\/p>\n

9 <\/span>Jack Jeanne Switch Lite<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

If you’re a Western gamer who’s not particularly privy to Japanese\u00a0manga, there’s a good chance you haven’t heard of the subject matter here. Still, fans of Sui Ishida’s work, particularly his most recent project, Jack Jeanne<\/em> from 2019, will probably find much to love about this special model featuring his illustration on the back of the console. Sui Ishida is most known for his dark fantasy series\u00a0Tokyo Ghoul<\/em>.<\/p>\n

We’re talking extremely limited quantities here, as only 100 units were available to those who pre-ordered\u00a0Jack Jeanne\u00a0<\/em>for the Switch during a month-long window. Outside of collectors and diehard fans, it’s tough to see too many getting excited over this sketched turquoise rendition of the Switch Lite, as it’s a pretty minimalistic package.<\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Nintendo Labo “Cardboard” Pack<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

No, this exclusive contest<\/a> prize isn’t actually made of cardboard, which is probably smart as it would be a pretty fragile (not to mention flammable) machine! This is actually a skin that’s made to resemble the material – and in quite convincing fashion.<\/p>\n

Nintendo had released a call to come up with neat new\u00a0Labo\u00a0<\/em>ideas in various\u00a0regions.\u00a0The aim was to cobble together a cool Toy-Con creation with cardboard along with sketches and send it to Nintendo. The winner would receive this fake cardboard finished Switch, a Labo Creators jacket, and a framed award certificate signed by\u00a0Labo\u00a0<\/em>developers. That would certainly make for some cool collector’s items!<\/p>\n

7 <\/span>Disney Tsum Tsum Festival Bundle<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Believe it or not, the overtly-cute Disney-themed minigame romp called\u00a0Tsum Tsum\u00a0<\/em>actually\u00a0did\u00a0<\/em>get\u00a0a worldwide release back in November 2019. But unfortunately for Western collectors and fans of this adorable game, this console bundle was only ever released in Japan.<\/p>\n

It’s a bummer, as it actually is a pretty solid package; assuming Disney Tsum Tsum toys happen to be your thing. It contains a neat little custom design with images of a few of the toys on the console and controllers, along with a physical copy of\u00a0Disney Tsum Tsum Festival<\/em>. It also includes the newer, spruced-up Switch model which sports improved battery life. It costs 36,080 Yen; the equivalent of roughly $328.<\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Pok\u00e9mon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!\/Eevee! Bundles<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The base price of this bundle is a touch steep at $400, yet it\u00a0is\u00a0<\/em>a fairly robust package. Not only does it include either the\u00a0Eevee<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>or\u00a0Pikachu\u00a0<\/em>variants of this RPG, but you’ll also get the\u00a0Pok\u00e9ball Plus accessory (which\u00a0is normally going for around $40 these days).\u00a0You also get a pretty adorable looking Switch dock with these lovable\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon\u00a0and some cool custom colors on your included Joy-cons meant to resemble them.<\/p>\n

*<\/strong> As will be the case with many on our list, this somewhat outdated model might be\u00a0listed at a steeper cost at most outlets, depending on age and availability. Yet, you can find it at Gamestop.com<\/a> (Best Buy and\/or Walmart for various other bundles) at its original $400 asking price.<\/em><\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Pok\u00e9mon Sword And Shield Zacian And Zamazenta Switch Lite<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Part of the appeal of bundles is its slew of extra inclusions, which is, unfortunately, lacking when it comes to this recently-released Switch Lite. It doesn’t even include the game it’s marketing,\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon Sword & Shield<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Still, the console itself sure comes with a sleek look, sporting a visually pleasing color palette that’s meant to represent the epic Legendary beasts Zacian and Zamazenta<\/a>. If both\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon\u00a0<\/em>and portability are your thing, this makes for a neat Switch bundle, especially at its entry-level price of $199.99. This is the same price the base Switch Lite model is going for.<\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Nintendo Switch Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Edition<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

No – unfortunately, the neat\u00a0Smash Bros <\/em>GameCube\u00a0controller isn’t included in this package, nor is the handy adapter that allows you to play with these typically preferred controllers<\/a>. Still, at $359.99, this is a pretty sweet bundle, given the visually awesome design of the Switch dock and included Joy-cons.<\/p>\n

Of course, you also get a copy of\u00a0Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/em><\/a>, though, like most on our list, it comes in the form of a digital code. It would have been nice to get some added flair like a carrying case, an adapter, or at least a physical copy of the game. Regardless, it’s tough for diehard\u00a0Smash\u00a0<\/em>fans to\u00a0not be at least partially drawn to\u00a0this sleek bundle.<\/p>\n

3 <\/span>Monster Hunter XX Bundle<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

While the epic beast-slaying\u00a0Monster Hunter<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>series is quietly gaining some momentum in the West, the bulk of its success still can be traced to the “Land of the Rising Sun.” This likely provides the reasoning this super sleek\u00a0Monster Hunter\u00a0<\/em>bundle\u00a0was\u00a0restricted to Japanese shores. It was discontinued not long after its August 2017 release.<\/p>\n

The Switch dock is decorated with some pretty\u00a0Monster Hunter\u00a0<\/em>tribal patterns, and it comes with a physical copy of\u00a0Monster Hunter XX<\/em> – also known as\u00a0Generations\u00a0<\/em>in Western territories. This definitely makes (or made) for a neat bundle for fans of this grandiose RPG.<\/p>\n

2 <\/span>Dragon Quest XI S\u00a0– Definitive Edition Bundle<\/h2>\n

It sure seems like Japan gets all the good stuff – at least these are the sentiments that\u00a0Monster Hunter\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Dragon Quest<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>aficionados are likely to agree on. To help kick off the anticipated Switch launch Dragon Quest XI S<\/em>, an appealing themed bundle was released in late 2019.<\/p>\n

This limited edition packaged didn’t just include some cool, detailed\u00a0DQ\u00a0<\/em>artwork on the dock and Joy-cons, but it also included a Definitive Edition\u00a0<\/em>copy of the RPG. This could be had for the price of 39,960 Yen, or roughly 364USD. Not a bad deal, especially for fans of this series!<\/p>\n

1 <\/span>Diablo 3 Eternal Collection Bundle<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

It’s hard not to view this as the all-around coolest and best-value Switch package,\u00a0especially\u00a0<\/em>for fans of Blizzard’s classic Diablo<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>series. This GameStop-only bundle comes with what’s essentially the “definitive” version of\u00a0Diablo III<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>with a slew of bells and whistles.<\/p>\n

Not only do you get all the extra content of that spruced-up port, but you also get a cool set of Ganondorf armor you can flaunt online. Additionally, it includes one of the sleeker carrying cases you’ll find, and provides a custom\u00a0Diablo III<\/em>-themed console and dock. At just $360, you’re getting a pretty good deal if you factor in the added perks of this bundle.<\/p>\n
