However, one of the methods for rooting out\u00a0cheaters and hackers has possibly hurt some\u00a0regular players.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/call-of-duty-warzone\/\"><em>Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em><\/a>\u00a0has an in-game function that allows players to report\u00a0others for cheating of any kind. However,\u00a0various <em>Call of Duty<\/em> players and content creators report being supposedly &#8220;shadowbanned&#8221; for cheating in <em>Warzone<\/em> when\u00a0they didn&#8217;t. The players state that after being reported by\u00a0opponents, for one reason or another, they were blacklisted from regular matchmaking and placed in lobbies with other cheaters that have long queue times.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-warzone-dr-disrespect-most-controversial-guns-changes\/\">Dr. Disrespect Calls For Big Changes For\u00a0Call of Duty: Warzone&#8217;s Most\u00a0Controversial Guns<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Recently, YouTuber Tomographic shared his experience of being &#8220;shadowbanned&#8221; in <em>Warzone<\/em>\u00a0and how it impacted his gameplay online. In a video uploaded December 25, he said his\u00a0account had been blacklisted from regular matchmaking and moved him to what he called a &#8220;cheater&#8217;s bracket.&#8221; Whenever Tomographic\u00a0played a game with his friends, the hackers were there as well. Tomographic attributed his ban to using <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-warzone-symfuhny-dmr-overpowered\/\">the DMR 14 in <em>Warzone<\/em><\/a>, a powerful rifle\u00a0he describes as &#8220;broken&#8221; that gave\u00a0some players the impression he was cheating.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nxH2JU7d3lU\" frameborder=\"0\" allowTransparency=\"true\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden;width:1280;height:720;\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Tomographic advises players to avoid using weapons like the DMR 14 until the banning system is improved. The issue isn&#8217;t\u00a0a recent development, and stretches back to this past April\u00a0when various players raised the issue of their <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/activision-explain-unwarranted-bans-call-of-duty-warzone-modern-warfare\/\">accounts suddenly being banned in both <em>Modern Warfare<\/em> and <em>Warzone<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0The issue was brought up\u00a0on the Activision Support forums many times as\u00a0players reported playing <em>Warzone<\/em> for a few matches before being inexplicably banned.<\/p>\n<p>Some commonalities include being\u00a0given no reason for the ban,\u00a0losing access to\u00a0<em>Warzone<\/em> on PC, and receiving up to 200 pings before being matched &#8211; up if they ever do.\u00a0Even when\u00a0some of them started new accounts the bans carried over. While\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-ban-wave-appeal\/\">Activision reversed some of the bans in <em>Modern Warfare<\/em><\/a>, it doesn&#8217;t appear the company will do\u00a0the same with <em>Warzone<\/em>\u00a0anytime soon.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;shadowbanning&#8221; issue has cropped up repeatedly throughout the year and continues in December as well.
