Every few years, an older generation of\u00a0<em>Pokemon<\/em> games is remade, and seeing as the first, second, and third generations have all had their turn for remakes, fans have their hearts set on remakes of the fourth generation\u00a0<em>Pokemon<\/em> games,\u00a0<em>Pokemon Diamond and Pearl<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Although some fans were disappointed to see the first generation games get remade for a second time on the Switch with 2018&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Pokemon Let&#8217;s Go, Pikachu! and Let&#8217;s Go, Eevee!<\/em>, others held out hope for <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-diamond-pearl-remakes-2021\/\">remakes of\u00a0<em>Pokemon Diamond and Pearl<\/em><\/a> in 2020. However, The Pokemon Company threw fans another curveball this year by releasing DLC expansions for the first time ever, with the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra expansions for\u00a0<em>Pokemon Sword and Shield<\/em>. Despite this, many fans contend that with <em>Pokemon<\/em>&#8216;s 25th anniversary coming up next year,\u00a02021 is the perfect time\u00a0for the series to celebrate its past with\u00a0<em>Diamond and Pearl<\/em> remakes, and some fans are speculating that the games are already being hinted at.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-diamond-pearl-remakes-25th-anniversary\/\">Pokemon 25th Anniversary\u00a0Celebration: Will We Get Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Remakes?<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Junichi Masuda, one of the key producers at Game Freak for many\u00a0<em>Pokemon\u00a0<\/em>games, just recently made a tweet expressing gratitude for fan support during a tough year and hopefulness for 2021. However, what caught the eyes of fans most was the photo\u00a0attached to the tweet, which depicted\u00a0a group of <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/psyduck-life-sized-plushie-pokemon\/\">several\u00a0plush Psyduck,<\/a> which could be a reference to a moment involving the iconic\u00a0<em>Pokemon<\/em> in\u00a0the\u00a0<em>Diamond and Pearl<\/em> games.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Junichi_Masuda\/status\/1343810655153876994\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>While an unsuspecting fan may not think twice about the inclusion of a group of Psyduck in a simple New Year&#8217;s tweet, observant fans have noticed that it\u00a0could actually be alluding to coming\u00a0<em>Pokemon Diamond and Pearl<\/em> remakes\u00a0because of a moment\u00a0in the games when\u00a0a group of Psyduck experiencing headaches\u00a0block the player character&#8217;s path. For some, this theory may seem like a reach, but\u00a0remakes of\u00a0<em>Diamond and Pearl<\/em> have been rumored for quite some time now. And when considering that many believe Masuda to have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/game-freak-hinted-pokemon-sword-shield-name-october\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">hinted\u00a0at\u00a0<em>Pokemon Sword and Shield<\/em><\/a>\u00a0via Twitter in the past, a cheeky hint like this doesn&#8217;t seem too far-fetched.<\/p>\n<p>The devil&#8217;s advocate to this theory might point out that\u00a0Psyduck\u00a0is a Pokemon that is known to be prone to headaches. Including them in a photo at what looks like some sort of studio may just have been intended to be a representation of the headaches caused by stressful\u00a0aspects of 2020, particularly when it comes to <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/gdc-video-game-developers-delay-statistics-coronavirus\/\">game development and delays.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Whether 2021 brings\u00a0<em>Diamond and Pearl<\/em> remakes,\u00a0<em>Let&#8217;s Go<\/em> Johto games, or something completely out of left field is yet to be known.
