Players have discovered all sorts of hidden easter eggs, secret details, and references scattered throughout the game. However, there are still many things within Black Ops Cold War<\/em> that players have missed in their playthroughs. Some of these hidden gems range from smaller details to larger secrets about the story of the series in which Black Ops Cold War<\/em> is placed. This is a warning that there may be potential spoilers for the campaign of Black Ops Cold War<\/em>.<\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Can I Take Your Order?<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Burgertown has become one of the most iconic brands within the Call of Duty<\/em><\/a> franchise, specifically the Modern Warfare<\/em> series. However, the fictional fast-food chain can be found in Black Ops Cold War<\/em>. In the mission Redlight, Greenlight, Bell\u00a0along with Woods enter a Soviet installation that holds a simulated recreation of an American town inside; a Burgertown restaurant is spotted in this town.<\/p>\n

Players can actually interact with the Burgertown mascot Bubby standee by pressing the button on its side, to which Bubby will respond with different pieces of satirical dialogue.<\/p>\n

9 <\/span>Nuclear Arcade Cabinet<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

A Black Ops<\/em> game is not complete without the classic multiplayer map<\/a>, Nuketown. Every Black Ops<\/em> game has a new iteration of the famous nuclear test site.<\/p>\n

Along with each Nuketown map, there is a cutscene that plays at the end of every match, which is the nuclear bomb outside of the map detonating. In Black Ops Cold War<\/em>, the cutscene plays out but with a retro arcade cabinet succumbing to the explosion. Players can spot that very arcade cabinet, pre-explosion outside the map near the bomb tower.<\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Skating Through Time<\/h2>\n

In the multiplayer<\/a> map Miami, players fight their way through the streets of the titular Floridian city. There are many details that bring this map to life. One detail, however, may make players scratch their heads.<\/p>\n

Along the pier, a couple of skateboards are spotted on the ground. Upon closer inspection, it is revealed that some of these boards are penny boards, which were actually invented\u00a0in the 1990s. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em> takes place in the 1980s. While\u00a0it may just seem like a small oversight\u00a0that holds no significance,\u00a0there may be more to it that links to the game’s theme of not believing everything that one sees.<\/p>\n

7 <\/span>Doppelg\u00e4ngers<\/h2>\n

Staying on the theme of “seeing is NOT believing,” there is another curious hidden detail that may go amiss in Black Ops Cold War<\/em>‘s multiplayer mode.<\/p>\n

When starting a new match, a cutscene plays that shows how the players arrive at that location: by car, by helicopter, etc. If a player is playing on Custom Games by themselves and starts a match, the cutscene changes slightly. Instead of the characters in the cutscene showing the operators of each player, they all will take the form of the solo player’s operator. If someone is Adler, all characters in the cutscene are Adler. This is possibly just a placeholder so the cutscene can still play or something much more sinister.<\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Train Go Boom<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3<\/em> had one of the most mind-bending campaigns<\/a> out of any Call of Duty<\/em> game. Therefore, it makes sense that a piece of that game could find its way into Black Ops Cold War<\/em>. Every map in Black Ops Cold War<\/em> has sections within them that are named. The names are revealed once you enter that specific area.<\/p>\n

In the multiplayer map Crossroads Strike, the area where the derailed train is found is called Train Go Boom. If this sounds familiar, it’s because it is the line that antagonist John Taylor repeats in the Black Ops 3<\/em> campaign mission New World.<\/p>\n

5 <\/span>What Do The Numbers Mean?<\/h2>\n

The dilemma of finding out what the numbers mean has stuck with Call of Duty<\/em> fans for years to the point of the very question becoming a meme. The “numbers” make a return in the latest Call of Duty<\/em><\/a> game. In the campaign mission Echoes of a Cold War, players revisit the satellite array, which was the setting for\u00a0a Black Ops 1<\/em> campaign mission<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Entering the dilapidated array station, players will find a dead body with a crossbow bolt stuck in it. Holding X prompts some dialogue between Woods and Mason<\/a> as well as the familiar flashing numbers effect.<\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Lock And Key<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

In the same mission, players will find a locked cabinet that can be opened. A little further down a couple of corridors, the key to that locker is found in a desk. Players can either get the key stealthily or dispose of the enemies in the area.<\/p>\n

Either way, once the locker is opened, players will find a revolver named Redeemer and an unsettling picture of an infamous scientist. The picture is of Dr. Friedrich Steiner, one of the main antagonists of Black Ops 1<\/em>. Opening the locker will also trigger the same flashing numbers sequence.<\/p>\n

3 <\/span>Behind The Painting<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Paintings are notorious for being hiding places for almost anything. A painting was the hiding place for a safe in Batman: Arkham City<\/em>, Mario jumps through paintings in order to enter hidden worlds in the original Super Mario 64<\/em><\/a>, and paintings can be cleverly used in Minecraft<\/em> to hide rooms and other things.<\/p>\n

Black Ops Cold War<\/em> utilizes the painting hiding place as well. In the campaign mission End of the Line, players will pass a crooked painting right before entering the computer room. Hitting the painting causes it to fall revealing a poster, some flowers, and another Redeemer revolver.<\/p>\n

2 <\/span>Staying Still<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The campaign mission Break on Through is the climax of Black Ops Cold War<\/em>‘s story. Players make their own choices<\/a> on whether to listen to Adler or not when progressing through this mission. However, a third option presents itself at the beginning of the mission.<\/p>\n

When the player jumps out of the helicopters and gains control, they have the choice to literally do nothing. Standing right where the player lands for a couple of minutes\u00a0triggers the sound of Adler’s voice,\u00a0asking if they are in shock.<\/p>\n

1 <\/span>A Lost Teddy Bear<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Teddy Bears are a staple of both the Black Ops<\/em>\u00a0and the Modern Warfare<\/em><\/a> series. What separates a Modern Warfare<\/em> teddy bear from a Black Ops<\/em> teddy bear is one thing: a star. There is a star located on the chest of teddy bears found in Modern Warfare<\/em> games.<\/p>\n

However, one teddy bear with this star is found in Black Ops Cold War<\/em>. In the mission Brick in the Wall, a starred teddy bear is found under the coffee table in the living room of Franz Kraus’s apartment.<\/p>\n
