Animal Crossing: New Horizons<\/strong><\/em> is starting off 2021 with some more sea creatures, though there are a few big catches regarding their availability. Like always, Animal Crossing: New Horizons<\/em><\/a> players can collect the underwater critters by equipping a swimsuit and exploring the water that surrounds their islands.<\/p>\n

To kick off the new year in Animal Crossing: New Horizons<\/em><\/a>, players in the Southern Hemisphere can explore the waters to find 3 new critters for their museums. With only 40 sea creature types existing as opposed to the game’s 80 variations of fish and bugs, three newcomers is certainly a big deal. However, it seems like players in the Northern Hemisphere may be better off leaving their wetsuits at home, as their island waters will be lacking new creatures to gather in January.<\/p>\n

If players gathered all of December\u2019s sea creatures<\/a>, it seems they have already completed the month of January as well. Last month\u2019s list remains the same as this one, and while there is a fair bit of variety in the Northern Hemisphere waters already, players expecting some new additions will have to wait until February. As such, the most expensive sea creature types that can currently be found on Northern Hemisphere islands are the Red King Grab (8000 Bells), Snow Crab (6000 Bells), Venus’ Flower Basket (5000 Bells), and Lobster (4500 Bells).<\/p>\n

With Lobsters and Crabs still reigning supreme in the Northern Hemisphere, Animal Crossing: New Horizons<\/em> fans that have a passion for diving may want to focus on gathering Pearls for Pascal<\/a> throughout January. Even for those who have all of the adorable otter\u2019s Mermaid DIYs, Pearls fetch a pretty penny from both Timmy and Tommy at Nook\u2019s Cranny and sellers online \u2013 giving Northern players something to do even in this slow month.<\/p>\n

Players will not have to wait on a progression of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons<\/em>\u00a0calendar<\/a> if they are in the South, as there are three more critters to collect this month. If players are searching for a consistent way to make Bells from sea life as opposed to using the critters for museum completion, gathering a bunch of Giant Isopods will surely be one of the quickest way to make a buck this month.<\/p>\n
