Pretty much all\u00a0<em>Elder Scrolls<\/em> fans have to go in is a logo that Bethesda showed at E3 a couple of years ago, as nothing else has been revealed about the game in an official capacity. It&#8217;s unclear when more\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/the-elder-scrolls-6\/\"><em>Elder Scrolls 6<\/em><\/a> news will come, but a recent social media post by Bethesda has some fans buzzing that it may hint at the game&#8217;s setting.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/the-elder-scrolls-6-setting-release-when-leak\/\"><em>The Elder Scrolls 6<\/em>&#8216;s setting<\/a> is one of the most hotly-debated aspects of the game, with fans looking for hints in past games as well as trying to decipher hidden clues from the teaser trailer. Some believe that\u00a0<em>The Elder Scrolls 6<\/em> setting will be High Rock, whereas others think the game will be set in Valenwood. Others still think that\u00a0<em>The Elder Scrolls 6<\/em> setting is Hammerfell, which is seemingly backed up by Bethesda&#8217;s post.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/future-bethesda-games-first-better-or-best-xbox\/\">Future Bethesda Games Will Be &#8216;First, Better, or Best&#8217; on Xbox<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The official Elder Scrolls Twitter account has posted a map of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/every-small-town-skyrim-ranked\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Province of Skyrim<\/a>, with the caption &#8220;Transcribe the past and map the future.&#8221; The map includes three\u00a0candles on it, which some fans online think could be a hint about what to expect from\u00a0<em>The Elder Scrolls 6<\/em>. &#8220;Hammerfell&#8221; is written above one of the candles, which is why some fans think that could very well be the setting for the new game.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ElderScrolls\/status\/1344674735901339648\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Some\u00a0<em>Elder Scrolls<\/em> have taken the &#8220;map the future&#8221; caption to mean that\u00a0<em>The Elder Scrolls 6<\/em> setting is indeed being teased by the social media post, and that the\u00a0candles are the key to it. One of the candles is positioned on Solitude, Skyrim&#8217;s capital, whereas another candle is setting off the map itself and on a box of some kind. So the theory is one\u00a0candle\u00a0represents\u00a0<em>Elder Scrolls<\/em>&#8216; present, another the franchise&#8217;s past, and the other the franchise&#8217;s future. According to the theory, the future is represented by the candle sitting next to <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/elder-scrolls-6-setting-location-races-hammerfell-sinstral-elves\/\">Hammerfell<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Then again, it&#8217;s possible that fans have this backwards. Maybe the Hammerfell\u00a0candle is representing\u00a0<em>The Elder Scrolls<\/em>&#8216; past, as\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/elder-scrolls-6-lessons-can-learn-morrowind-daggerfall\/\">The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall<\/a><\/em> featured Hammerfell as one of its locations. If so, then the\u00a0candle that&#8217;s hanging off the map would represent the future, which would seem to indicate that fans will have to wait for some more substantial evidence before they can figure out\u00a0<em>The Elder Scrolls 6<\/em>&#8216;s location. It&#8217;s also possible that fans are reading way too much into this post and it doesn&#8217;t really mean anything of significance.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, it may be quite some time before\u00a0<em>The Elder Scrolls 6<\/em> fans know where the next game in the series will take place. Bethesda is currently working on the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/starfield-the-elder-scrolls-6-xbox-game-pass-day-one\/\">open world sci-fi RPG\u00a0<em>Starfield<\/em><\/a>, and that&#8217;s expected to launch before\u00a0<em>Elder Scrolls 6<\/em>.
