This year has been a wild ride for fans of Runescape 3<\/em><\/a>. The long-lasting fantasy MMORPG has seen its fair share of changes over its nearly 2 decade lifetime. With the addition of a new skill<\/a> earlier this year and the game coming to Steam<\/a>, one more new change has made its debut recently.<\/p>\n

Runescape 3<\/em>‘s developer Jagex<\/em> strikes again with the addition of the game’s newest boss, Raksha. With the incorporation of this behemoth, the hardest bosses in the game see a new contender in their ranks. Keep in mind that all of these bosses are for members only. If you want to give them a try, either get a membership or purchase a bond via the Grand Exchange.<\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Raksha<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Being the newest boss in Runescape, Raksha is extremely annoying to face off against. You can access this boss by completing a mini-quest for Laniakea near the south-eastern ruins of Anachronia. The name of the quest is Raksha, the Shadow Colossus. During the quest, the boss’s location is made clear, so be sure to stock up on supplies and gear before attempting the fight.<\/p>\n

Raksha can use all three combat styles, so it’s recommended to bring your best ranged gear to avoid melee combat. This allows you to focus fully on the ranged and mage attacks that he dishes out. What makes this new giant dinosaur<\/a> so difficult is that he is one of the few bosses in the game with an insta-kill mechanic. Be on the lookout for this attack, or you will surely regret it.<\/p>\n

9 <\/span>Nex<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Nex is one of the most profitable bosses in Runescape 3<\/em>. In order to get access to her chambers, you must first create a frozen key. You can collect each of the four components to the key by killing the followers of Saradomin, Zamorak, Bandos, and Armadyl. Once you have completed the key, you can find the entrance to her chamber in the center room of the dungeon.<\/p>\n

Like most bosses in Runescape, Nex has a few combat phases to look out for. Four of her five phases are based on the Ancient Magicks found in the game: smoke, shadow, blood, and ice. By extension, these phases also have special mechanics similar to the effects of those types of magic.<\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Araxxi (High Enrage)<\/h2>\n

One of the most difficult features in a few of Runescape 3<\/em>‘s boss fights is a mechanic called enrage. The more you fight a boss within a certain time span, the angrier it gets. As it gets enraged, its damage goes up by a significant amount. Araxxi was the first boss to introduce this attribute back in 2014. You can find this boss’s entrance in the east part of Morytania.<\/p>\n

In as little as 15 fights you will be challenging Araxxi at its maximum enrage. When entering the fight, you will notice that there are three different paths you can take. Only two of the paths will be offered, depending on the day in the real world. You are given the freedom to choose among those two paths, so choose wisely.<\/p>\n

7 <\/span>Seiryu the Azure Serpent<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Seiryu is the final encounter in the first elite dungeon in Runescape 3<\/em>. The boss is among the three highest level monsters in the entire game at combat level 10,000. To take on this boss, you must first complete the Impressing the Locals quest. Once completed, head to the island of Aminishi and enter the dungeon from there.<\/p>\n

Seiryu doesn’t necessarily have phases like the previous bosses. Instead, at certain health totals, you will be required to climb onto its back and destroy black crystals on its manacle. Each time you destroy a crystal on Seiryu’s back the special attacks that it uses will gain more speed. There are a total of three black crystals that you must destroy to end the boss fight.<\/p>\n

6 <\/span>The Ambassador<\/h2>\n

The Ambassador is the final boss of elite dungeon 3, the last of the three elite dungeons. Elite dungeon 3 is extremely entertaining and is one of the reasons why Runescape<\/em> is still fun to play<\/a> even after two decades<\/a>. To reach this boss, you can use the Ring of Kinship to teleport to Daemonheim, head south-east, and use the boat located on the shore.<\/p>\n

This boss has 3 phases to look out for and has a whopping 1,000,000 health. While the boss doesn’t have an insta-kill mechanic, some abilities come pretty close. Before facing off against him, get your feet wet with the story-mode version of the dungeon.<\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Yakamaru<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Another one of Runescap<\/em>e 3<\/em>‘s highest level bosses, Yakamaru is the final boss of the only raid found in Gielinor. Similar to Seiryu, Yakamaru is level 10,000 and is nearly impossible to beat while playing solo. Usually encountered in groups of 10 or more, raids are a particularly difficult challenge even for the most seasoned veterans. You can get to this raid by using the grouping system to teleport there.<\/p>\n

There are many different phases to this boss fight, but the most important part of the battle is the roles players take beforehand. There are a plethora of guides online for roles, so be sure to read up on them before taking on the raid. Players are generally pretty forgiving for newbies, so go into the fight ready to learn.<\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Nex: Angel of Death<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

While Nex was already on this list, the hardest variant of Nex is a completely different ballgame. Nicknamed AOD (Angel of Death) by players, this boss is considered by far the hardest boss in the game to solo. Only one player has achieved the task of soloing the boss, so don’t get your hopes up with that challenge. Just like Nex, this boss is reached by obtaining a frozen key.<\/p>\n

AOD is usually fought in groups of 7 or more, however, the hard cap is 50 players. While it is conceivable to do with less than 7 people, it is not recommended because of the sheer difficulty. AOD has 4 phases and a ton of mechanics, so be sure to read up on the boss before going in with a group. As always, practice makes perfect.<\/p>\n

3 <\/span>Hard Mode Vorago<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Hard mode Vorago is an especially interesting boss to reach. While he is located right outside of Falador, a place extremely close to where free-to-play<\/a> players spawn, he is unmistakably not for new members to encounter. Before you can even fight him, you have to kill the normal version of Vorago with the Maul of Omens. You also must survive a hit of 70,000 damage split among the players before going in.<\/p>\n

The boss fight consists of 5 different phases, in 5 different rooms. Each phase having entirely new mechanics and special attacks depending on the day in the real world (just like Araxxi). In hard mode, the boss doesn’t have any warning messages that help prepare you for the attack being used.<\/p>\n

2 <\/span>Solak<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Solak can be reached by heading to the center of The Lost Grove. Inspect the stone found in the south part of Tirannwn and you will be teleported to the grove. Be wary though, as this area is full of high-level content only for the most seasoned Runescape<\/em> players.<\/p>\n

Solak has a hard cap of 7 players that can fight him at once. However, most players choose to fight him in a pair due to the increased drop chances. He can deal fiercely high damage but luckily is susceptible to most combat effects, besides stun.<\/p>\n

1 <\/span>Telos (High Enrage)<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Telos is by far the hardest boss in the game. Before you have the chance to fight him, you must first collect four ancient sigils by killing the four God Wars Dungeon 2 bosses. Once you have them, put them together and place them on the door at the center of the dungeon.<\/p>\n

Telos can only be fought solo, hence why he is so difficult. He has four phases, and with each phase, you descend deeper into the depths of the Heart of Gielinor. Telos also features the enrage mechanic, but he caps at 4000% enrage. Once he reaches this point, he becomes a complete powerhouse. If you are skilled enough to reach this point, you have a high chance to be rewarded with some of the best drops in the game.<\/p>\n
