Many fans eagerly await the franchise&#8217;s next installment,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/rainbow-six-quarantine\/\"><em>Rainbow Six: Quarantine<\/em><\/a>, which was first announced during\u00a0E3 2019. Since then,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/rainbow-six-quarantine-news-when\/\"><em>Quarantine<\/em> has been delayed again and again,<\/a> with little to no other news about it.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/games-delayed-like-cyberpunk-2077\/\">10 Games That Were Delayed More Times Than Cyberpunk 2077<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This is particularly concerning for existing\u00a0fans of the franchise. <em>Quarantine<\/em> is already a major departure from the series&#8217; roots, with this title centering around cooperatively\u00a0shooting\u00a0hordes of zombie-like enemies (\u00e0 la <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/left-4-dead\/\"><em>Left 4 Dead<\/em><\/a>).\u00a0 With the future of the <em>Rainbow Six<\/em> series on the line, players from around the world are holding their breaths as they wait to see whether\u00a0<em>Quarantine<\/em> will meet these expectations.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">10 <\/span>We Want: A Single-Player Story<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static2.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Rainbow-Six-Quarantine-Teaser-Image.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Fans of the series have been looking forward to a new single-player experience\u00a0for a long time.\u00a0<em>Rainbow Six: Siege<\/em> released as a multiplayer-only title, making 2008&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Vegas 2<\/em> the last game in the franchise to have a story mode.<\/p>\n<p>As fans may know,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.ubisoft.com\/en-us\/article\/4e5jllOXGVcOX74KeHT7OF\/null\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ubisoft has stated<\/a> that\u00a0<em>Quarantine<\/em> will have <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/best-co-op-games-2020\/\">a co-op campaign (hopefully it&#8217;ll be a fantastic experience with fellow players<\/a>), but it&#8217;s still unknown whether the campaign can be played alone or if\u00a0it will include a fully-fledged story. Players will no doubt have to keep waiting until more is known about this game.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">9 <\/span>We Do Not\u00a0Want: A Generic Open-World Experience<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Ubisoft-Open-World-Games.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Much-storied developer and publisher\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/ubisoft\/\">Ubisoft <\/a>is well-known for its open-world sandbox games, like\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/assassins-creed\/\"><em>Assassin&#8217;s Creed<\/em><\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/watch-dogs\/\"><em>Watch Dogs<\/em><\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/ghost-recon-breakpoint\/\"><i>Ghost Recon<\/i><\/a>. Yet some fans are tired of seeing the same style of\u00a0gameplay applied to their favorite franchises, and they\u00a0are worried\u00a0<em>Quarantine<\/em> will suffer the same fate as the publisher&#8217;s other series.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/best-open-world-games-assassins-creed-valhalla\/\">10 Open-World Games As Breathtaking As Assassin&#8217;s Creed Valhalla<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This sort of change may seem unlikely for this title, but Ubisoft has successfully turned all their other franchises into <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/best-open-world-pc-games-ranked\/\">vast, open-world games,<\/a> so it&#8217;s not that much of a stretch. Fortunately for those who enjoy less daunting titles,\u00a0nothing Ubisoft has shown thus far indicates an open-world campaign.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">8 <\/span>We Want: Next Gen Support On Launch<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Next-Gen-Consoles.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>When\u00a0<em>Quarantine<\/em> was first announced, all promotional information said the game would arrive on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.\u00a0Since then, the next generation of consoles\u00a0has\u00a0been released. Ubisoft has said that the game will release on next-generation consoles, but it&#8217;s unknown whether this will happen at launch or if it will be ported over later.<\/p>\n<p>Many gamers around the world are quickly upgrading their consoles to get the newest and best games, so Ubisoft&#8217;s title will be <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/best-xbox-series-x-launch-games\/\">buried under the early competition on these systems<\/a>\u00a0if it doesn&#8217;t come out on the Xbox Series X and Playstation 5. Hopefully, though, the\u00a0delays will allow Ubisoft to release the next installment of the\u00a0<em>Rainbow Six<\/em> series on next-generation consoles at launch.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">7 <\/span>We Do Not\u00a0Want: Microtransactions<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static2.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Micro-Transactions.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Microtransactions have become a major part of the video game industry, and many players have slowly gotten used to them. Yet some games still release with egregious monetization models, making even the most accepting of fans upset.<\/p>\n<p>As of yet, Ubisoft hasn&#8217;t confirmed the existence of microtransactions, yet players expect to find some in the form of weapon skins and other cosmetics \u2014 similar to those in\u00a0<em>Rainbow Six: Siege<\/em>. Gamers hope that microtransactions only extend to cosmetics and do not give in-game advantages, lock away\u00a0fan-favorite operators or seal off important maps and game modes.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">6 <\/span>We Want: Returning Operators<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Rainbow-Six-Siege-Operators.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p><em>Rainbow Six: Siege<\/em> launched with the idea of operators \u2014 unique player-characters with their own personalities and gameplay styles. So far, Ubisoft has only confirmed a small handful of the operators, with two appearing in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=5mUu-1uZvb0\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the game&#8217;s teaser<\/a>. Fans, however, are hoping to see the whole cast return in the co-op shooter.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">5 <\/span>We Do Not\u00a0Want: Recycled Content<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static2.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/next-gen-rainbow-six-siege.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p><em>Quarantine<\/em> was inspired by the\u00a0<em>Outbreak<\/em> event in\u00a0<em>Rainbow Six: Siege<\/em>. This temporary mode won over the fanbase and players began to demand more from the developers. Ubisoft was quick to seize the opportunity and announced\u00a0<em>Rainbow Six: Quarantine<\/em> as its own stand-alone title.<\/p>\n<p>This\u00a0came as great news to a lot of fans. Even so,\u00a0some are still concerned that Ubisoft will recycle content from\u00a0<em>Siege<\/em>,\u00a0without innovating or adding enough to the game to make it stand out on its own. Only time will tell how different\u00a0<em>Quarantine\u00a0<\/em>will be.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">4 <\/span>We Want: Gameplay Variety<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Rainbow-Six-Siege-Outbreak-1.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Many fans look forward to\u00a0<em>Quarantine<\/em>, and they want to play the game for years on end \u2014 much like\u00a0<em>Siege<\/em> before it. They also want Ubisoft to continuously support the game by adding new maps, weapons, and enemies to keep players returning.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">3 <\/span>We Do Not\u00a0Want: A Rushed Release<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Cyberpunk-2077-V.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>The recent release of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/cyberpunk-2077\/\"><em>Cyberpunk 2077<\/em><\/a> was a massive shock to players around the world, for its\u00a0sheer quantity of bugs and unfinished content. Fans were furious at the rushed state of the game and the studio received major backlash for it.<\/p>\n<p>Players hope<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/bad-video-game-launches-cyberpunk-2077\/\"><em> Cyberpunk<\/em>&#8216;s troubled\u00a0launch<\/a> will be a warning to other studios, forcing publishers to delay a game&#8217;s release to guarantee it launches in a finished state. This is especially true for\u00a0the\u00a0<em>Rainbow Six<\/em> franchise, as the previous entry,\u00a0<em>Siege<\/em>, released in a poor state with limited\u00a0content.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">2 <\/span>We Want: PvP<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static2.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Rainbow-Six-Siege-Player-Versus-Player.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Fans of the game have expressed their desire to see more than just co-op gameplay. Many hope that\u00a0<em>Quarantine<\/em> will release with some sort of PvP mode, allowing gamers to fight each other in addition to the zombie-like creatures of the game.<\/p>\n<p>This could come in the form of having two competing teams fight off both each other and the hordes of AI monsters. Or it could be similar to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/halo\/\"><em>Halo<\/em><\/a>&#8216;s infection mode, with dead players returning to kill their former companions.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">1 <\/span>We Do Not\u00a0Want: Another Roadmap<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Rainbow-Six-Siege-Year-3-Roadmap.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>The likes of\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/anthem\/\">Anthem<\/a><\/em>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/marvels-avengers\/\"><em>Marvel&#8217;s Avengers<\/em><\/a>,\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Ghost Recon: Breakpoint<\/em> are all PvE games that released in a sorry state, later promising to make up for the lack of content with a roadmap.
