As spotted by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Cheesemeister3k\" rel=\"noopener\" >Cheesemeister<\/a> (via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.videogameschronicle.com\/news\/sony-will-discontinue-multiple-ps4-models-according-to-a-japanese-retailer\/\" rel=\"noopener\" >VGC<\/a>), the Japanese shop in question posted a sign indicating that five PS4 models have been discontinued.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/6hDIvDPRcPA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>They are the 500GB Glacier White, the 1TB Jet Black, 1TB Glacier White, 2TB Jet Black, and the PS4 Pro 1TB Glacier White. As VGC points out, PS4 Pro may be first on the chopping block, as the console&rsquo;s page on <a href=\"https:\/\/direct.playstation.com\/en-us\/consoles\/console\/playstation-4-pro-1tb-console.3003346\" rel=\"noopener\" >Sony&rsquo;s own Direct store<\/a> has had it as out of stock for over a month.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the same page previously featured a message alerting customers that the 1TB PS4 Pro will no longer be restocked, before it was inexplicably removed. Indeed, console makers typically announce new low prices for their last-gen machines closer to the launch of the new products.<\/p>\n<p>This has yet to happen for either Microsoft or Sony&rsquo;s console, though the former at least has Xbox consoles at varying price points <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2020\/07\/16\/xbox-one-x-original-xbox-one-discontinued\/\" >now that Xbox One X has been discontinued<\/a>.
