Thus, many prospective buyers are likely wondering whether they have the space available to store their future consoles.<\/p>\n<p>This question is not unfounded given the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/sony-ps5-biggest-console-modern-video-game-history\/\">PS5 is the biggest console in modern video game history<\/a>, which plenty of individuals and companies have been quick to poke fun at since it was first unveiled to the public. However, Swedish furnishing giant IKEA has apparently thrown its hat into the ring by using a clever stand-in product to assist its customers with purchasing decisions and\u00a0call out Sony in one fell swoop.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/phil-spencer-xbox-series-x-consoles-major-nelson-podcast\/\">Head of Xbox Phil Spencer Promises More Xbox Series X Consoles Are Constantly Being Built<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reddit user TomaccoTastesLikeGma posted an image of <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/ps5\/\">PS5<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/xbox-series-x\/\">Xbox Series X<\/a> cardboard recreations they say were discovered in an IKEA to r\/gaming Sunday. The two models have size measurements on all sides so people know how much space is needed to store each one, but the PS5 also includes a pointed jab at Sony&#8217;s design. It says, &#8220;Which IKEA media storage unit will be able to fit my new, meme-ishly oversized, gaming console?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/gaming\/comments\/kppuaz\/which_ikea_media_storage_unit_will_be_able_to_fit\/?utm_source=share&#038;utm_medium=web2x&#038;context=3\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>TomaccoTastesLikeGma assures multiple commenters that these cardboard recreations are real and from IKEA, and it does make sense to market products like &#8220;media storage units&#8221; by proving they can hold the latest console models &#8211; regardless of their unusual size or shape. This wouldn&#8217;t be the first time the furnishing company has delved into video game culture, as last year <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/ikea-animal-crossing-new-horizons-furniture-catalog\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IKEA Taiwan released an <em>Animal Crossing<\/em>-themed furniture catalog<\/a> for 2021.<\/p>\n<p>While the image has gained traction in r\/gaming via this post, which has over 60,000 upvotes and 1,000 comments as of this writing, it was also shared by <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/rooster-teeth-1-million-extra-life-charity\/\">Funhaus\/Rooster Teeth<\/a> writer, producer, and actor Elyse Willems on Twitter, who credits an Imgur user named JFP1. The official Xbox Twitter account responded to this with a couple of jokes prominently using extra characters and marks such as umlauts to emulate a Swedish tone.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Xbox\/status\/1346150159160389633?s=20\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Despite its size and seeming lack of availability, reports suggest the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ps5-ships-units-one-month-playstation-console\/\">PS5 shipped more units in one month than any other PlayStation<\/a>\u00a0console, and the Xbox Series X has similarly broken records for Microsoft alongside its cheaper equivalent the Xbox Series S.
