Hitman 3\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>is releasing in only a couple of weeks’ time,\u00a0serving as the finale to IO Interactive’s World of Assassination trilogy. Aside from it offering new levels to explore and targets to kill, the game is even offering players an excuse to revisit the first two games, as Hitman 3<\/em> will come with all of the missions from\u00a0<\/a>Hitman (2016)\u00a0<\/em>and Hitman<\/em>\u00a02<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Recently, it was discovered that\u00a0Hitman 3<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>is also aiming to be more optimized than its predecessors, meaning it won’t take up as much storage space, and now the developers have announced a minor, but otherwise welcome, new feature for the game called the persistent shortcuts system.<\/p>\n

It was confirmed as part of a Game Informer exclusive and was accompanied by a short piece of new footage showing the feature in action. As the name suggests,\u00a0Hitman 3<\/em>‘s levels (which include locations like Dubai<\/a>, Chongwing, and merry old England) will contain hidden shortcuts, such as ladders, doors etc. that can only be accessed from one direction.<\/p>\n

Should a player manage to access one of these shortcuts, they can open new pathways that could feasibly make the mission a tad easier or, at the very least, open up new possibilities for how to dispose of a target or make a hasty getaway.<\/p>\n

What’s more, players won’t need to unlock these shortcuts on repeated playthroughs. Once a shortcut has been unlocked, it will remain open, as a means of\u00a0incentivizing players to try different tactics or shave some time off completing the mission. IO Interactive says it included this system to both encourage and reward exploration and players’ curiosity.<\/p>\n
