For Pokemon GO<\/em><\/strong> fans, not only is there the constant threat of the Pokemon GO<\/em> Rocket leaders<\/a> but their main boss Giovanni as well. Giovanni is arguably one of Pokemon GO’s hardest fights,<\/em> and he can be quite difficult to track as well.<\/p>\n

To find Giovanni, the first thing Pokemon GO<\/em> fans have to do is finish the four stages of the Pokemon GO<\/em> Looming in the Shadows research missions<\/a>. Doing so will give the player access to the Super Rocket Radar, which will be important for pinpointing his location.<\/p>\n

There will still be attempts by disguised Team GO Rocket grunts to trick the gamer into fighting them instead. And for players looking for help on beating him, here are suggestions for good counters.<\/p>\n

The first Pokemon Giovanni always uses is a Persian<\/a> that can use normal, dark, fairy, and rock type moves. Fighting-type moves will be the best choice since it will be super effective against him. Some good options for counters are a Lucario with Counter and Power-Up Punch, Machamp with Counter and Cross Chop, Blaziken with Counter and Blaze Kick, or a Poliwrath with Mud Shot and Power-Up Punch.<\/p>\n

Giovanni’s second choice can be one of three Pokemon: Kangaskhan, Nidoking, or Garchomp. Kangaskhan is another normal type Pokemon that is weak to fighting type moves. The best choices are Lucario with Counter and Aura Sphere, Conkeldurr with Counter and Dynamic Punch, Machamp with Counter and Dynamic Punch, or Breloom with Counter and Dynamic Punch.<\/p>\n

Nidoking<\/a> is a Poison and Ground-type Pokemon that is weak to ground, water, psychic, and ice type attacks. Good choices for Nidoking counters are Empoleon with Waterfall and Hydro Cannon, Jirachi with Confusion and Doom Desire, Kyogre with Waterfall and Surf, or Dialga with Dragon Breath and Iron Head.<\/p>\n

Lastly, Giovanni’s third possible choice is a Garchomp<\/a>, a dragon and ground type pokemon that is weak to ice, dragon, and fairy type attacks. Some effective counters would be Articuno with Ice Shard and Icy Wind, Frost Breath and Ice Beam, Gardevoir with Charm and Psychic, or Dragonite with Dragon Breath and Dragon Claw.<\/p>\n

Finally, Giovanni’s last Pokemon of choice is the iconic legendary Pokemon Mewtwo<\/a> himself. Mewtwo is a powerful psychic Pokemon, so dark type moves will be a trainer’s best friend. The top choices to fight off against Mewtwo are Tyranitar with Bite and Crunch, Hydreigon with Bite and Dark Pulse, Darkrai with Snarl and Dark Pulse, or Weavile with Snarl and Foul Play.<\/p>\n

Like the Team Rocket GO Leaders, Giovanni will have shields to protect himself from two charged attacks. Trainers should make sure to save their strongest Pokemon for that final Mewtwo. Hopefully, this guide helps gamers who want to stop Team GO Rocket’s plans for the month.<\/p>\n
