Here are some of the best emotes in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/final-fantasy-xiv-free-version\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Final Fantasy XIV<\/em><\/a> and how to get them.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Updated on January 8th, 2021 by Meg Pelliccio:<\/strong> With any game that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/final-fantasy-14-best-custom-characters\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">allows players to customize their character<\/a> to the smallest detail, especially MMOs, fans truly love to make their character their own, and that sometimes even extends to roleplaying as them and staying in character.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>One of the great things about Final Fantasy XIV is that\u00a0players can add to their collection of character mannerisms by collecting emotes, so they can express how they are feeling, react to things more accurately, and generally have lots of fun. Check out some of the\u00a0very best emotes in the game and exactly how players can get them for their own characters just below.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">15 <\/span>Lali-ho<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Final-Fantasy-14-Lali-ho-Emote.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>For players wanting to Lali-ho to their friends, they can get their own emote by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/final-fantasy-14-best-sidequests\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">completing one of the sidequests<\/a> included as part of the <em>Shadowbringers<\/em> expansion content. Players need to travel to Kholusia and accept the quest\u00a0&#8220;Learning to Lali-ho&#8221; from the NPC called\u00a0Ronitt at\u00a0(X:11.1, Y:11.8).<\/p>\n<p>In order for the quest to appear, players must first have completed the main scenario quest called\u00a0&#8220;Meet the Tholls&#8221;, as well as the sidequest called &#8220;A Disagreeable Dwarf&#8221;\u00a0given by the NPC Beott in Kholusia at (X:12.5, Y:9.3).<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">14 <\/span>Spectacles Emote<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Final-Fantasy-14-Spectacles-Emote.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>The rather awesome Spectacles Emote (as well as the Inspector&#8217;s Eyeglasses gear) is given as a reward from the sidequest called &#8220;Letters from No One&#8221;. This quest is part of the\u00a0Scholasticate side quest chain, which can be started\u00a0in The Pillars at (X:6.3, Y:9.4) by accepting the quest\u00a0&#8220;Keeping the Ledger&#8221; from the NPC Mathye.<\/p>\n<p>For this quest to appear, players must first have completed the level 56 <em>Heavensward<\/em> main scenario quest &#8220;He Who Would Not Be Denied&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">13 <\/span>Haurchefant Emote<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Final-Fantasy-14-Haurchefant-Emote.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Players are able to remember one of the most fan-favorite characters in style by representing with the Haurchefant Emote. This emote is the reward from the sidequest\u00a0&#8220;The Burdens We Bear&#8221; that is given by the NPC Slowfix in\u00a0Idyllshire at (X:7.6, Y:6.6). This quest chain might make players a little emotional, given the fact it <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/final-fantasy-saddest-character-deaths-whole-series\/\">references a character who died<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/final-fantasy-14-scions-seventh-dawn-ranked-best\/\">Final Fantasy XIV: Ranking the Top 10 Members of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In order for this quest to appear, players must first have completed the <em>Heavensward<\/em> main scenario quest called\u00a0&#8220;Heroes of the Hour&#8221; and have progressed far enough in the sidequest chain that begins with\u00a0&#8220;The Paths We Walk&#8221;\u00a0from the House Fortemps Manservant NPC in Ishgard (in House Fortemps).<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">12 <\/span>Most Gentlemanly Emote<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static2.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Final-Fantasy-14-Most-Gentlemanly-Emote.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>The Most Gentlemanly emote is the reward from the sidequest &#8220;Her Last Vow&#8221;, given by the NPC Julyan\u00a0in Ul&#8217;dah\u00a0at (X:12.1, Y:11.8). This quest is part of the Hildebrand quest chain, which can be started by accepting the quest\u00a0&#8220;The Rise and Fall of Gentlemen&#8221; from the NPC Wymond in Ul&#8217;dah, at (X:9.9, Y:8.7).<\/p>\n<p>To begin this quest chain, players must already have completed the main scenario quest called &#8220;The Ultimate Weapon&#8221;. Additionally, this quest chain is rather lengthy and has several other notable rewards, including the Manderville Dance and Manderville Mambo emotes.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">11 <\/span>Throw Emote<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Final-Fantasy-14-Throw-Emote.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>The Throw Emote is a great little action for players who want to\u00a0pretend to have snowball fights with their friends. In order to get this emote, players need to start the sidequest called &#8220;Toss Fit Workout&#8221; given by the NPC\u00a0Maucolyn\u00a0in Coerthas Central Highlands at\u00a0(X:25, Y:27.8).<\/p>\n<p>The great thing about this emote is that if\u00a0players are standing in a snowy area, their character will throw an actual snowball too. Luckily, there are no requirements for this quest, so players can unlock this emote as soon as they want.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">10 <\/span>Play Dead<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/mM6W4rQ-1.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Play dead is just as it sounds. Characters pretend to die and lays motionless on the ground as if they were killed in battle. It is good fun, especially when <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/final-fantasy-xiv-10-mmos-best-looking-dungeons-ranked\/\">with friends in a dungeon<\/a>.\u00a0There is a number of\u00a0emotes, such as this particular one, need to be bought with real-world money.\u00a0They can be purchased\u00a0from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/store.finalfantasyxiv.com\/ffxivstore\/en-us\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Final Fantasy XIV<\/em> Online\u00a0store<\/a> for seven dollars.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/final-fantasy-xiv-classes-beginners-best-avoid\/\">Final Fantasy 14: 8 Best Classes For Beginners (&amp; 7 To Avoid)<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>That is regrettably the only way to get the Play Dead emote, and it, unfortunately, isn&#8217;t an account-wide item either, meaning\u00a0players can only apply it to one of\u00a0their characters. Square Enix regularly hold sales on the online store, so it may be worth waiting until this occurs.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">9 <\/span>Dote<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/maxresdefault-2020-05-13T121029.484.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Dote is the blow kiss emote with a little something more. You actually get to summon a heart and blow it at whoever you target. It&#8217;s the perfect way for players to express their love to another character.<\/p>\n<p>Like the Play Dead emote, this one can only be bought at the <em>Final Fantasy XIV<\/em> Online Store. However, it is cheaper at just two dollars. Do not worry though, there are plenty of others on this list that you do not have to pay real money for!<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">8 <\/span>Manderville Mambo<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/maxresdefault-1-98.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>If you have not done the Manderville questlines, then you are missing out on way more than just an emote. The quests are <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/final-fantasy-advent-children-memes\/\">hilarious <\/a>and have a ton of slapstick comedy mixed into a ridiculous, but interesting, plot.<\/p>\n<p>The Manderville Mambo is a dance that you get from completing the level 70 Manderville sidequest. You get it at the same time that you get the achievement reward, &#8220;Good Night, Sweet Hildy&#8221;. Players can start the\u00a0Hildebrand quest chain with the\u00a0&#8220;The Rise and Fall of Gentlemen&#8221; quest, which can be accepted from\u00a0Wymond in Ul&#8217;dah, at (X:9.9, Y:8.7).<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">7 <\/span>Toast<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/EP9DzJ5WoAAClzw.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Nothing says merriment and adventure more than a tankard and a toast. This emote allows your character to take out a tankard, toast, and take a swig. What is in the cup? Booze? Root beer? Does not matter!<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/final-fantasy-xiv-crafting-classes-leveling-tips-ff14\/\">Final Fantasy XIV: 10 Tips For Leveling Crafting Classes<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This emote is only available on the\u00a0<em>Final Fantasy XIV<\/em> Online Store\u00a0and can be bought for seven dollars, much like the play dead one.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">6 <\/span>The Three Songbird Cheers<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/uf0rvaUax-KLgwm4t7gz099Yg4.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>These three emotes are all very similar. They each have different colored light-up sticks with a different motion in which to wave them. They were released in 2018 for Little Lady&#8217;s Day. So if you were a player around that time, you were probably lucky enough to get these cheers for free.<\/p>\n<p>For those that missed the event, you can still buy each one for two dollars on the\u00a0<em>Final Fantasy XIV<\/em> Online Store or the whole set for five dollars.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">5 <\/span>Hum<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/314777a47cn11.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>The hum emote is a nice idle stance where your character just stands and happily hums to themselves. No, they don&#8217;t make sound, but they do move as though they are thinking of a little beat in their head, which is absolutely adorable.<\/p>\n<p>Hum is received after completion of the level 70 quest called &#8220;The Fire-bird Down Below&#8221;. It is part of the Four Lords questline. This quest chain can be\u00a0started\u00a0by speaking to the NPC Soroban\u00a0in <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/final-fantasy-14-best-worst-zones\/\">The Ruby Sea area<\/a> at (X:5.7, Y:15.8) and accepting the quest &#8220;An Auspicious Encounter&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">4 <\/span>Battle Stance<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static2.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/yNoxGxd.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>What makes battle stance one of the best emotes is that it completely changes depending on what class you are. So in a way, it is a ton of emotes in one! They are also very cool. While a lot of the emotes on this list are a bit sillier, battle stance is great for role-playing a stoic character who is <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/final-fantasy-14-dancing-plague-trial-guide\/\">preparing for a big fight<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/final-fantasy-14-tips-leveling-gathering-classes\/\">Final Fantasy XIV: 10 Tips For Leveling Gathering Classes<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The emote is received at level 60 after completing the post-<em>Heavensward<\/em> main scenario quest called &#8220;Causes and Costs&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">3 <\/span>Lean<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static2.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/maxresdefault-2-54.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Lean is another rather cool emote. It is also perfect for being away from your keyboard, as it is an idle animation. You just put your back to a wall or object, and the emote lets you lean against it. Simple, but pleasing to the eye.<\/p>\n<p>The only way to get lean is through the reconstruction of Ishgard. You will need to craft a lot and collect 1,800 Skybuilders scripts in order to purchase the emote. It is learned through the Ballroom Etiquette &#8211; Winsome Wallflower item.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">2 <\/span>Black Ranger Pose<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/maxresdefault-3-31.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>There are different ranger poses available, but it is the black ranger poses that everyone loves. Why? It looks like your character is dabbing! How hilarious is that? It is likely you have seen this pose a lot, but never the ones for the red or yellow ranger.<\/p>\n<p>The black ranger pose is three dollars on the <em>Final Fantasy XIV<\/em> Online Store, or you can get the whole set\u00a0of ranger poses for seven dollars and fifty cents. These emotes are not account-wide, so players will only be able to add them to one character on their account.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">1 <\/span>Diamond Dust<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/maxresdefault-4-20.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Now, this is the crown jewel of emotes. It is also known as the Iceheart emote, as it encases\u00a0the player in ice, then explodes, and\u00a0the character\u00a0gets to float for a bit. It is gorgeous and likely one of the rarest emotes out there.<\/p>\n<p>This is because it only came with limited edition statues of <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/final-fantasy-lore-details-summons\/\">the boss, Shiva<\/a>. Those statues retail at about 150 dollars and they sell out fast. Obviously, this frustrated a lot of players. So if you have this emote, you are one of few.
