Dragon Age 4<\/em><\/strong>, or whatever it ends up being officially titled, last officially appeared at The Game Awards 2020. Although the game has been relatively secretive since it was first revealed in 2018, 2020 saw quite a few appearances, and it seems that it\u00a0may still be ramping up its marketing in 2021. Just a week into the new year, Christian Dailey, who recently moved from Anthem 2.0<\/em> to Dragon Age<\/em><\/a>, has posted a new\u00a0piece of concept art for the game.<\/p>\n

With the\u00a0game’s Dragon Age<\/em><\/a> logo in the lower righthand corner, players get to see some\u00a0Autumn-esque designs in the background, complemented with what appears to be floating rocks, but of course, the focus in on the character dead center. Immediately, the bow may capture fans’ attention, as it appears to be created through some enchanted stones (or something of the like) where the arrow is made from magic. The “Magic Archer” also wears a helmet, so players cannot see her face, but the character model is obviously that of a woman.<\/p>\n

With dedicated concept art seemingly being focused on this one character, it’s obvious that this particular character is important, although it’s worth mentioning this isn’t the first magical archer shown so far. The recent Dragon Age 4<\/em> teaser showcasing Tevinter<\/a> also saw someone shoot a magical arrow, but they may not be the same person. In the trailer, the figure had a horned helmet, whereas there are no discernible horns here, nor is this the first concept art to show this style of character (though this character may still be slightly distinctive from them). With this in mind and the idea that this character may be important, there’s a good chance this is one of the new Dragon Age<\/em>‘s companions<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It’s unlikely any generic NPC would have such a bow, and while it could arguably be an enemy, Dailey’s emojis may help hint at this being a companion. Obviously, there’s bow-and-arrows for the character, as well as dragons to represent Dragon Age<\/em>. One of the emojis, however, is a heart with an arrow through it. This is a symbol typically associated with cupid, implying this character can be romanced as with many BioWare RPGs, which in turn would imply that this character may just be a companion. That practically begs the question of whether this is a mage, whether this a rogue, or whether BioWare is changing up Dragon Age<\/em>‘s class system<\/a>, but it’s an interesting character design regardless.<\/p>\n
