As Nintendo begins to phase out many services for its older systems, like\u00a0the discontinuation of Netflix on the Wii U and 3DS,<\/a>\u00a0many Nintendo fans have been keeping a close eye on their older consoles to look out for any more changes. While the DSi Shop shut down back in March of 2017, many 3DS owners were shocked to see over 250 DSiWare<\/strong>\u00a0titles disappear from the 3DS eShop without warning\u00a0earlier this week.<\/p>\n

The random removal of the DSiWare games<\/a>\u00a0came to the surprise of many, including those involved in the making of some of those games, such as\u00a0Shantae<\/em> creator Matt Bozon. However, again, seemingly out of nowhere, it’s looking\u00a0like some of the removed DSiWare games have actually made its way back onto the 3DS eShop.<\/p>\n

3DS owners noticed last night that for one reason or another, almost all of the removed DSiWare titles returned to the eShop just as silently and swiftly as they were taken away earlier this week. This includes the return of some popular titles such as Nintendo’s\u00a0Art Academy<\/em> series,\u00a0Plants vs. Zombies<\/em>, and most\u00a0notably,\u00a0Shantae: Risky’s Revenge<\/em>.<\/a><\/p>\n

The return of the missing DSiWare games\u00a0was reported by Delisted Games, a database made to chronicle information on discontinued video games.<\/a> Strangely enough, while many of the bigger\u00a0DSiWare titles\u00a0reappeared on the 3DS eShop at the same time, it seems that there were some stragglers. Initially, some games from the\u00a0Petz<\/em> series didn’t return to the eShop until later, and some other DSiWare\u00a0like\u00a0Digger Dan & Kaboom<\/em> and\u00a0Match Up!<\/em> have yet to return to the digital shop. At the time of this writing, Nintendo still has yet to comment on these occurrences.<\/p>\n

While it’s not known what exactly is going on with the 3DS eShop, many speculate that the removal of the games was largely unintentional and due to something like a change in servers. Although the 3DS has been discontinued for a few months,<\/a>\u00a0hopefully fans will receive a proper notice ahead of time should\u00a0Nintendo decide to officially delist\u00a0any DSiWare titles\u00a0in the future.<\/p>\n
