Since then, Twitch users have gone on to play crowd-controlled versions of nearly every other mainline\u00a0<em>Pokemon\u00a0<\/em>game, including the latest releases,\u00a0<em>Pokemon Sword and Shield<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, many twists have been put on the experiment, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fish-plays-pokemon-twitch-channel\/\">such as\u00a0Fish Plays Pokemon,<\/a> which\u00a0has seen multiple fish play through\u00a0<em>Pokemon<\/em> games like <em>Ruby and Sapphire<\/em>, which\u00a0decided game\u00a0inputs based on the fish&#8217;s\u00a0swimming patterns. Now,\u00a0<em>Pokemon<\/em> fans have somehow innovated on the concept once again, allowing Twitter users to play\u00a0<em>Pokemon Red<\/em> in an interesting way.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-ruby-fish-badges\/\">Fish Plays Pokemon Ruby and Wins Two Badges<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Constantin Li\u00e9tard, a 3D Programmer at\u00a0Gameloft Montreal, has made it so Twitter users can play <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-red-blue-strongest-stats\/\">a game of\u00a0<em>Pokemon Red<\/em><\/a> inside of\u00a0his own\u00a0Twitter avatar. Yesterday, Li\u00e9tard made the announcement\u00a0letting users know that replying to a certain Tweet\u00a0with button inputs like &#8220;A&#8221; and &#8220;Start&#8221; will control\u00a0the game of\u00a0<em>Pokemon Red<\/em>\u00a0shown in\u00a0his Twitter avatar.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/screenshakes\/status\/1347589296593788933\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Li\u00e9tard explained that every 15 seconds, the comments on the designated Tweet are pulled, and the input with the most comments is the one that is sent to the game. Since launching it, several improvements have already been made, such as allowing users to leave messages along with their inputs, as well as adding a functionality that saves each new frame of the game, eliminating the need for users try to navigate to the &#8220;save&#8221; option.\u00a0It appears that after almost 8,000\u00a0comments, Twitter managed to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/pokemon-squirtle-poliwag-perfect-starter-comparison\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">choose Squirtle as their starter Pokemon<\/a> and make it to the game&#8217;s first major city, Viridian City, which is rather impressive considering the number\u00a0of replies.<\/p>\n<p>Since launching the project, Li\u00e9tard has allowed Twitter users to join a\u00a0Discord server in order to chat about happenings in the game and attempt to coordinate their next moves. While one\u00a0<em>Pokemon<\/em> fan made it so players could <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fan-creates-streaming-device-pokemon-sword-remotely\/\">take turns controlling\u00a0a game of\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fan-creates-streaming-device-pokemon-sword-remotely\/\"><em>Pokemon Sword<\/em><\/a> last month, this new project seems to take Twitch Plays Pokemon to an entirely new level.<\/p>\n<p>Although nothing has officially taken place just yet to celebrate\u00a0<em>Pokemon<\/em>&#8216;s monumental 25th anniversary this year, it seems that fans are content for now celebrating the franchise by making their own fun.
