The name, it seems, takes its inspiration from LucasArts&rsquo; old moniker: the studio went by Lucasfilm Games until it rebranded in 1990.<\/p>\n<p>The statement notes that Lucasfilm Games &ndash; &ldquo;a name that encompasses the company&rsquo;s rich catalog of video games and its eye toward the future&rdquo; &ndash; will mimic what we&rsquo;ve seen the likes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2020\/10\/05\/xbox-game-studios-2020-stats\/\">Xbox Game Studios<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2020\/05\/12\/ps5-first-party-animation\/\">PlayStation Studios<\/a> do in the past, and bring various developers together under one clear brand identity.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/sKVWJNa3uqE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Before this announcement, EA had been on publishing duties for Star Wars games &ndash; launching <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2019\/11\/20\/star-wars-jedi-fallen-order-pc-review\/\">Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2020\/10\/01\/star-wars-squadrons-review\/\">Star Wars: Squadrons<\/a> over the past few years.
