With the hype of\u00a0Final Fantasy 7 Remake<\/em><\/strong> still burning on and anticipation for its next part high, the world is in a quiet Final Fantasy 7 frenzy. Square is certainly capitalizing on this by releasing other Final Fantasy titles on Xbox Game Pass<\/a>, and some new information indicates what might be in store in\u00a0Final Fantasy 7 Remake Pt. 2<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Square Enix recently trademarked several things related to\u00a0Final Fantasy 7<\/em> and, by extension\u00a0Final Fantasy 7 Remake<\/a><\/em>. Two of these trademarks, “Ever Crisis” and “The First Soldier” clearly relate to the lore of\u00a0Final Fantasy 7<\/em> Remake<\/em>, and the last one, the Shinra Corp logo, is even more overt.<\/p>\n

Each of the new trademarks by Square<\/a> relates to a different aspect of\u00a0Final Fantasy 7<\/em>‘s lore, and together could hint at some of the important parts of\u00a0Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2<\/em>. For starters, “Ever Crisis” likely relates directly to Zack Fair, whose story took a turn for the unexpected in\u00a0Final Fantasy 7 Remake<\/em>. “The First Soldier” likely relates to Sephiroth, who has been in the spotlight lately thanks to his appearance in\u00a0Super Smash Brothers Ultimate<\/em>. How these will stack up in\u00a0Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2<\/em> is currently unknown.<\/p>\n

“Ever Crisis” mirrors the title of Crisis Core:\u00a0<\/em>Final Fantasy 7<\/em>, Zack Fair’s solo outing, which expanded on his role in the lore. It ended with his death at the hands of Shinra, but in\u00a0Final Fantasy 7 Remake,<\/em> it looks like he survives. Whether this is the result of an alternate universe, split timeline, or both is as yet unknown. It’s also not known what Zack’s role will be going forward<\/a>, but hopefully, he proves a good addition to\u00a0Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2<\/em>, since many fans would be disappointed if he doesn’t.<\/p>\n

As for “The First Soldier,” it’s similarly unknown what this entails for Sephiroth, though there can be some speculation. Sephiroth and Aerith’s voice actors recently filmed a scene together<\/a>, implying that the two will have more interaction. Perhaps Sephiroth will get his own solo section exploring the two characters’ connection as it exists in\u00a0Final Fantasy 7 Remake<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 and it does seem to exist, although its nature is unclear.<\/p>\n

There have already been some huge departures from the original Final Fantasy 7<\/em> story<\/a> in\u00a0Final Fantasy 7 Remake<\/em> and it looks like there will be many more, though hopefully, the new ones are good.<\/p>\n

Final Fantasy 7 Remake<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>is out now for PS4, with a second installment currently in development.<\/p>\n
