Tango Gameworks has worked on nothing but\u00a0The Evil Within<\/em> franchise since it launched the original back in 2014, but the studio is moving on to a new IP with its next title.\u00a0Ghostwire: Tokyo<\/strong><\/em> has been pegged for a vague 2021 release for some time, but now the game’s release date has been narrowed down. Apparently, the\u00a0Ghostwire: Tokyo<\/em><\/a> release date will be at some point during the month of October 2021.<\/p>\n

This information came to light thanks to a recent PlayStation sizzle reel<\/a> that focused mostly on PS5 games coming in 2021. The sizzle reel included new release windows for a variety of projects, which is where the October 2021 release window for\u00a0Ghostwire: Tokyo<\/em> came from. And while\u00a0Ghostwire: Tokyo<\/em> is not a horror game, it does have ghosts and some horror elements to it, so it should make for a fitting October release.<\/p>\n

Ghostwire: Tokyo<\/em> is just one Bethesda-published game that is set to come to the PS5 as a timed-exclusive<\/a> title on consoles. The other,\u00a0Deathloop<\/em>, has a specific release date of May 21, 2021. While both games are timed-exclusives for consoles, they are both also coming to PC as well so fans should keep that in mind just in case they are still unable to get their hands on a PS5 between now and when the games come out.<\/p>\n

As for when\u00a0Ghostwire: Tokyo<\/em> will come to other platforms, that’s already been confirmed. Bethesda’s PlayStation exclusivity deal for\u00a0Ghostwire: Tokyo<\/em><\/a> means that the game will be a PS5 exclusive for a minimum of 12 months. When that exclusivity window is up, the game will be able to be ported to other platforms, and assuming Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda parent company ZeniMax Media goes through, an Xbox release is almost certainly in the cards. So perhaps Xbox Series X fans can expect\u00a0Ghostwire: Tokyo<\/em> to launch on their console of choice in October of 2022.<\/p>\n

For now, fans may just be curious as to when they will get to see more of the game. While there’s been some\u00a0Ghostwire: Tokyo<\/em> footage<\/a> released to the public, the game has mostly been kept under-wraps, so it’s unclear exactly what fans can expect from it. Hopefully more information comes to light sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, Ghostwire: Tokyo<\/em> is not the only PS5 game<\/a> that was confirmed by the sizzle reel to be launching October 2021.\u00a0Stray<\/em>, a strange game where players solve mysteries as a cat, is also set to launch at some point that month as well. Assuming neither game is hit with a delay, then October 2021 should prove to be a rather exciting month for PlayStation gamers on PS5.<\/p>\n
