As a result, the co-operation agreement has automatically terminated in accordance with these terms.<\/p>\n<p>On December 14, EA made a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2020\/12\/14\/ea-1-2-billion-codemasters-acquisition-take-two\/\">counter-offer to Codemasters for&nbsp;&nbsp;$1.2 billion<\/a>, which was more than the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2020\/11\/06\/codemasters-talks-sell-rockstar-parent-company-take-two\/\">$994 million<\/a> offer Take-Two put out&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2020\/11\/10\/take-two-f1-dirt-codemasters\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">in November<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Whether Take-Two was prepared to make a counter-offer isn&rsquo;t known, but since Codemasters&rsquo; Board of Directors accepted EA&rsquo;s offer in December, this is likely why it didn&rsquo;t hold an additional meeting, causing Take-Two to lapse the offer due to the Court Meeting and General Meeting not being held.<\/p>\n<p>The EA deal is expected to go through during the first quarter of 2021.
