Pokemon<\/em><\/strong> fans have been spoiled\u00a0with content in recent years. The Nintendo Switch console has seen the release of multiple major Pokemon<\/em><\/a> game releases. First came the more casual Pokemon Let’s Go<\/em> remakes of the original Pokemon Yellow<\/em>. Then came Pokemon Sword<\/em> and Pokemon Shield<\/em>, the first main series Pokemon<\/em> releases on Switch. Now, if rumors are to be believed, remakes of Pokemon Diamond<\/em> and Pearl<\/em> are up next. And the latest leak hints they may be revealed sooner than expected.<\/p>\n

Spanish outlet Pokemon Center states that it has sources close to The Pokemon Company confirming that remakes of Pokemon Diamond<\/em> and Pokemon Pearl<\/em> for the Nintendo Switch<\/a> will be announced in February. No details regarding when in February the announcement will be made, nor what kind of event the games will be revealed at were shared. Fans will just have to wait for further confirmation regarding the rumored Pokemon Diamond<\/em> and Pearl<\/em> remake announcement.<\/p>\n

But the Pokemon Center does have one other claim to share, in addition to the supposed reveal window. The site claims that their sources also confirmed that Pokemon Diamond<\/em> and Pearl<\/em> will take more from the original games than other Nintendo Switch Pokemon<\/em> remakes<\/a>. Specifically, Pokemon Diamond<\/em> and Pearl<\/em> will feature classic Pokemon capture mechanics, rather than mechanic changes due to the influence of Pokemon GO<\/em>.<\/p>\n

That last rumor is certain to cause more questions than it solves, however. Pokemon Let’s Go<\/em><\/a> took many liberties compared to the original Pokemon Yellow<\/em> game. Pokemon<\/em> fans were mixed about the changes but appreciated the Pokemon Let’s Go<\/em> games for what they were. Those core fans would definitely like to see Pokemon Diamond<\/em> and Pearl<\/em>‘s remakes be more authentic. Changing how Pokemon are captured is one big change, for sure, and it possibly hints at other big changes.<\/p>\n

The reveal window for Pokemon Diamond<\/em> and Pearl<\/em> does coincide with one other rumor making the rounds. That rumor being that a new Nintendo Direct presentation is planned for the end of February. The event will tie into the 25th anniversary of Pokemon<\/em><\/a>, as well as Pokemon Day, which is traditionally held on February 27.<\/p>\n

It must be repeated that none of these rumors have credible evidence readily available. They come from unnamed, anonymous sources. Remakes of Pokemon Diamond<\/em> and Pearl<\/em> have not been announced. Despite all the rumors and speculation surrounding the next Pokemon<\/em> games<\/a>, until they’re officially confirmed by Nintendo or The Pokemon Company, fans should maintain a healthy amount of skepticism about any rumor.<\/p>\n

Pokemon Diamond<\/strong><\/em> and Pokemon Pearl<\/strong><\/em> are not yet confirmed to be in development.<\/p>\n
