The studio returns to announce development on its next game,\u00a0<strong><em>Kitsune Tails<\/em><\/strong>, made in partnership with MidBoss and Ratalaika Games.<\/p>\n<p>Since its founding in 2013 by Emma &#8220;Eniko&#8221; Maassen and James Yarrow, Kitsune Games has made strides to be as <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ubisoft-diversity-inclusion-vp\/\">inclusive as possible<\/a> in its creation of games. While the studio enjoyed the spotlight after the release of<em> Super Bernie World<\/em>, it\u00a0has also released games like the turn-based dungeon crawler <em>MidBoss<\/em> (not to be confused with MidBoss, the studio), and the puzzle game\u00a0<em>Ultra Hat Dimension<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nintendo-biggest-switch-indie-releases-2020\/\">Nintendo Graphic Highlights the Biggest Switch Indie Releases of 2020<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Kitsune Games recently announced development on a new retro platformer called\u00a0<em>Kitsune\u00a0Tails<\/em>.\u00a0The story follows a young half-human, half-kitsune named Yuzu as she goes on a journey to deliver her first message as a servant to the goddess Inari. Players will be able to explore multiple lands inspired by Japanese mythology, as well as different haunted houses. There is romance with a helpful sorceress, multiple power-ups, optional story quests, and even a secret ending.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2XBSBUlc5Es\" frameborder=\"0\" allowTransparency=\"true\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden;width:1280;height:720;\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>One thing that makes this game so unique is\u00a0the developers&#8217;\u00a0specific desire to add a queer romance to the narrative. With a major focus on the game&#8217;s queer narrative,\u00a0<em>Kitsune Tails<\/em>\u00a0has the potential to join the ranks of many\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pride-month-lgbt-games-undertale-smile-me-dad-dating-simulator\/\">other well-received LGBTQ+ indie games<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Kitsune Tails<\/em> will release on the indie-focused\u00a0storefront itch.io\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/free-super-bernie-world-game-steam\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Steam<\/a>,\u00a0just like\u00a0<em>Super Bernie World<\/em>. This time, the devs will be getting help from Ratalaika Games to bring\u00a0<em>Kitsune Tails<\/em> to PlayStation consoles.
