With a <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/dragon-ball-fighterz-super-baby-2-gameplay-reveal\/\">brand new character arriving in\u00a0<em>Dragon Ball FighterZ<\/em><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0proving the fighting game is\u00a0still alive and well, Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2 had\u00a0the opportunity to do something new with the franchise and thus\u00a0<em>Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot<\/em> was born, a single-player action-RPG that retold the story of its titular character.<\/p>\n<p>Now <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/dragon-ball-z-kakarot-one-year-anniversary\/\">celebrating its one year anniversary, <em>Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot<\/em><\/a> combines the mechanics of a fighting\u00a0game and an open-world action-RPG and retells\u00a0the <em>Dragon Ball Z<\/em> story\u00a0through seven playable characters including Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Future Trunks, Gotenks, and Vegito. On top of the main story and boss battles, players can explore the open-world, complete side quests, go fishing, and collect Z-orbs to upgrade Goku&#8217;s abilities.\u00a0<em>Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot<\/em> wasn&#8217;t the groundbreaking reinvention players might have hope it would be, but it is an excellent game that tries something new and tugs at the nostalgia heartstrings quite a lot.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Observer-System-Redux-Rutger-Hauer-Featured.jpg\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>After the success of the 2014 horror short <em>P.T.<\/em>, Polish developer Bloober Team took inspiration from the title and began work on a something new that would shape the future of the studio, a psychological horror game called <em>Layers of Fear<\/em> that focused on story, puzzle-solving, and misdirection. Since <em>Layers of Fear<\/em>, Bloober Team has become a prolific horror developer with games like <em>Blair Witch<\/em>, <em>Layers of Fear 2<\/em>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/the-medium-live-action-trailer\/\">upcoming Xbox exclusive <em>The Medium<\/em><\/a> on its portfolio.\u00a0As part of the next-gen launch lineup on top of its work on <em>The Medium<\/em>, Bloober Team also chose to revisit one of its earlier titles, the cyberpunk horror game,\u00a0<em>Observer<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Observer: System Redux<\/em> is a next-gen remaster of <em>Observer,<\/em>\u00a0a cyberpunk-themed\u00a0psychological horror game about a digital plague that killed thousands and sent the world into war, poverty, and rampant drug use. Starring <em>Blade Runner<\/em>&#8216;s Rutger Hauer in the lead role, players are sent to a lower-class apartment block to uncover the whereabouts of his son and whos behind a series of recent deaths. Featuring <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/observer-system-redux-ps5-xbox-series-x-graphic-improvements\/\">upgraded visuals, ray-tracing, 4K HDR, and 60 FPS gameplay<\/a>, <em>System Redux<\/em> is not only the best way to play <em>Observer<\/em>, but it&#8217;s also an excellent showcase of what these new consoles are capable of.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ps5-dualsense-controller-faceplates\/\">PS5 DualSense Faceplates Now Available Online<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/The-Walking-Dead-Saints-and-Sinners.jpg\"\/><\/figure>\n<p><em>The Walking Dead<\/em> is a franchise that seems like it would translate perfectly to video games, but despite its popularity, it has had an uneven past at best. <em>Telltale&#8217;s The Walking Dead<\/em> series is still widely considered to be one of the best adventure games of the last decade, whereas <em>The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>The Walking Dead:\u00a0Onslaught\u00a0<\/em>were critically panned with almost no redeeming qualities. The problem is that most of these games try to capitalize on <em>The Walking Dead<\/em> brand rather than\u00a0its premise, and that&#8217;s where\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/best-horror-games-2020\/\"><em>The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners<\/em> comes out on top<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Developed by Skydance Interactive, the video game division of the film production company behind <em>Mission: Impossible &#8211; Fallout<\/em> and the upcoming <em>Top Gun Maverick<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners<\/em> is a\u00a0first-person shooter for PlayStation VR where the goal is to survive by whatever means necessary. Featuring a 10-15 hour campaign, crafting and upgrade systems and a mechanic called &#8216;Stir the Herd&#8217; that spawns a devastating horde on a timer,\u00a0<em>The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners<\/em> is gritty, violent, terrifying, and <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/walking-dead-saints-sinners-vr-games-review\/\">one of the best adaptations of the franchise in video games<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/destruction-allstars-ps-plus.jpg\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>For the past three months, Sony has offered three games in\u00a0its PlayStation Plus free games lineup: two PS4 games and a third PS5 game. Starting in February, <em>Destruction AllStars<\/em> will be available for free for two months, exclusively on PlayStation 5, similar to <em>Bugsnax<\/em> which was available\u00a0from November\u00a0to January.
