It appears things only continue to get worse for CD Projekt. Ever since the disastrous launch of\u00a0Cyberpunk 2077<\/em><\/strong>, the company has been doing everything it can to improve the game, but that wasn’t enough to protect it from a lawsuit filed by its own investors<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Said lawsuit claims that CD Projekt knowingly misled investors on the state of\u00a0Cyberpunk 2077<\/a><\/em>, especially on the base PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which were considered by many as virtually unplayable. And now a regulatory notice from CD Projekt itself confirms that it has been hit with a second class action lawsuit by another law firm representing investors.<\/p>\n

According to CD Projekt, the content of the lawsuit is exactly the same as the first one. Though both lawsuits have been filed for the same reason, neither specifies the quantity of damages sought (i.e. how much recompense the investors are expecting). CD Projekt states that it will vigorously defend itself against the claims, which so far seems to suggest that both lawsuits will eventually be taken to court.<\/p>\n

While the company has taken steps to make up for the game’s launch, offering full refunds<\/a> to disgruntled players and issuing updates to address some of the bugs and glitches, its reputation took a severe hit and it appears to only steadily be getting worse.<\/p>\n

First-hand accounts from anonymous CD Projekt developers revealed all manner of woes that plagued the game’s development, including miscommunication, disorganization, and too much of a focus on marketing. The\u00a0E3 2018 demo<\/a>, which was praised for how impressive it was at the time, has since been revealed to have been fake as well, and many working on the game didn’t believe it would be ready for its 2020 release date, even with all the delays.<\/p>\n

Things are so bad that one analyst even predicts that CD Projekt could potentially be bought out by another company and, very recently, a couple of retailers were spotted to be offering Cyberpunk 2077<\/em> at a discount<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Aside from the major patches, CD Projekt is still working on adding free DLC to the game later this year, as well as eventually releasing dedicated PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X\/S versions. There’s also the game’s multiplayer mode<\/a>, but that’s even further off, with CD Projekt even stating that development on that is on hold until the main game is fixed.<\/p>\n

Though there are still plenty of fans who enjoy the game and wish to continue supporting CD Projekt, there are just as many who are no longer impressed with the studio and are far less accepting of the multiple apologies it has been offering.<\/p>\n

Cyberpunk 2077\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>is available on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X\/S versions currently in development.<\/p>\n
