As players progress through Hitman 3<\/strong><\/em>‘s Dartmoor location, they are bound to uncover several of the secret doors and passageways of the Thornbridge estate. One secret to the manor that may elude many players is how to unlock the mysterious floor switches that open several hidden rooms.<\/p>\n

Hitman 3<\/a><\/em> players with a keen eye may have noticed that in multiple instances across the level, secret rooms and passageways are identified by portraits of dogs – including the case file safe in Alexa’s office<\/a>. It is only fitting that all the mysterious switches are not activated by a key, but instead via a walking cane with a metallic dog at its tip.<\/p>\n

The walking cane is located on the first floor of the manor inside Emma and Gregory’s room. Once inside the room, players should notice the walking stick next to the fireplace.<\/p>\n

Players can see a red exclamation point over the walking stick, implying that it is an illegal item and that if Agent 47 has it in his possession, guards will be suspicious of him. While this is the case for most illegal items in Hitman 3<\/em><\/a>, if the player is disguised as the private investigator –even though the exclamation mark appears over the stick– players can roam the estate freely with it in their possession.<\/p>\n

A missable room that players can unlock with the walking cane is located in the 1st-floor library. Inside the secret room, players will find multiple distraction coins in addition to a piece of intel. This room will likely be the last location players need to uncover to unlock the “Discover Dartmoor” challenge<\/a>, which is worth 2000xp.<\/p>\n

Another integral location to use the walking cane is outside of Alexa Carlisle’s office. The walking cane will unlock an entrance to Alexa’s secret room when used on the mysterious switch in the hallway. While players may have already discovered Alexa’s secret room, this is an extremely useful unlock as it allows them to bypass the guards in the hallway.<\/p>\n

Using the walking cane at this location will allow players the opportunity to unlock the “Sweet Dreams” challenge which is awarded for eliminating Alexa Carlisle in her secret room. As Alexa is only in her secret room for a brief period at the start of the level, having the walking cane in the player’s possession allows them to quickly access the location and eliminate the target in record time<\/a>.<\/p>\n
