Gonzaga became available for Marvel Studios&#8217; <em>She-Hulk <\/em>after she opted against extending her option with<em> The Cleaning Lady<\/em> when it expired.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tom-holland-disneyland-spider-man-ride\/\">Watch Tom Holland Behind The Scenes For Disneyland&#8217;s Spider-Man Ride<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Deadline reports\u00a0Gonzaga will\u00a0board Marvel Studios&#8217; <em>She-Hulk<\/em> as the best friend of Jennifer Walters, the alter-ego of the superpowered green heroine. Gonzaga joins supporting cast members <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/she-hulk-mark-ruffalo-tim-roth\/\">Mark Ruffalo and Tim Roth<\/a>, who reprise their respective roles as Bruce Banner and the Abomination. While Marvel Studios declined to comment on the original story,\u00a0Gonzaga confirmed her casting in a post on her official Twitter account in which she expressed excitement about joining the Marvel and Disney Plus family. &#8220;I&#8217;m beyond excited to join She-Hulk! We will be directed by Kat Cairo! [Jessica Gao] is gifting us her hilarious writing &amp; I get to run amok w\/ the insanely talented Tatiana Maslaney,&#8221; she wrote.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/gingerthejester\/status\/1351694332416278529\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Marvel Studios&#8217; president Kevin Feige described <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/marvel-she-hulk-series-half-hour-legal-comedy\/\"><em>She-Hulk<\/em> as a half-hour legal comedy<\/a>\u00a0that follows Maslaney&#8217;s Jennifer Walters\u00a0while she tries to be taken seriously as a working professional despite her transformation into a tall and green superhero. Feige also suggested additional Marvel characters could appear in<em> She-Hulk<\/em> from episode to episode on account of the titular heroine specializing in legal cases concerning superheroes.\u00a0Co-created by Stan Lee partly to ensure Marvel would own the rights to a female version of the Hulk before CBS&#8217;\u00a0<em>The Incredible Hulk,\u00a0<\/em>Walters&#8217; transformation into a large, green, superpowered version of herself is traditionally the result of a blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner, in the comics.<\/p>\n<p>As a New York-based lawyer in the comics, She-Hulk&#8217;s specialization in superhero oriented legal cases has led to speculation that characters from Netflix&#8217;s canceled Marvel shows could appear in the Disney Plus series. The\u00a0chances of seeing fellow attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/she-hulk-show-daredevil-return-secret-character-tease\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Matt Murdock, a.k.a. Daredevil<\/a>, appear on <em>She-Hulk <\/em>seemingly improved following reports of Charlie Cox reprising the role in Tom Holland&#8217;s third <em>Spider-Man<\/em> film.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from\u00a0vague references to the characters and events in the films, Netflix&#8217;s Marvel shows barely had any connection to the wider MCU.
