With the end of the current season quickly approaching, Bungie gave Destiny 2<\/em><\/strong> fans a big update on its plans for Season 13<\/a>. While story and activity details are still unknown at this time, Bungie did provide insight into what it is doing about FOMO, or fear of missing out. Previous seasons would leave many fans with this feeling as most of the seasonal content was removed from the game leaving those who came late left out in the cold. However, that is changing as just about everything is staying except Crow’s bounties, the seasonal pass and artifact, as well as the messages from the field.<\/p>\n

In addition to dealing with FOMO, Bungie also confirmed that it is bringing back Umbral Engrams and the\u00a0Prismatic Recaster<\/a> to help focus the loot into something more specific. Not only is this intended to help offset the damage that gear sunsetting has caused, it also gives players another way to farm gear that they want. While these were a bit plentiful in Season 11, the drop rate has been tweaked in season 13 so they shouldn’t drop quite as often.<\/p>\n

As the Season of the Hunt winds down, the exotic merchant Xur has made his weekly appearance inside of\u00a0Destiny 2<\/a><\/em>\u00a0with an updated inventory of exotic gear. Follow this guide for his location, news on his exotic cypher quest, as well as a review of what he’s currently selling for the weekend of\u00a0January 22,\u00a02021.<\/p>\n

This weekend, players can track Xur back inside of the European Dead Zone in his usual spot overlooking the Winding Cove.<\/p>\n

Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone and immediately head towards the back where the Fallen typically patrol. Climb the cliffs back here to find Xur standing on a ledge not too far from a crashed ship.<\/p>\n

While Xur’s role is essentially the same as it was prior to the Beyond Light expansion, the exotic merchant\u00a0also has weekly quests that players can acquire to unlock an exotic cypher. Not only are these required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the new kiosk<\/a>.\u00a0Players can earn a new cypher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clanmates or finishing more challenging activities.<\/p>\n

Other than that, here are Xur’s three gear pieces this weekend:<\/p>\n

Karnstein Armlets\u00a0– Warlock\u00a0gauntlets<\/strong><\/p>\n

After being available on Christmas, the Karnstein Armlets are back in stock. These are a\u00a0strong Warlock exotic item, that gives the player added survivability thanks to its exotic perk. Upon a melee kill, Vampire\u2019s Caress restores a large portion of health while also continuing to restore health for a short duration afterward.<\/p>\n

This is an item that all Warlocks should have as it\u2019s a very strong item in PvE situations and\u00a0activities like Gambit<\/a>, Escalation Protocol, or Blind Well where there are large groups of enemies to overcome. There are much better options for PvP players, but it’s a fun exotic to play around with otherwise. For those looking for a strong resilience build, these are also a pretty solid exotic option this week.<\/p>\n
