The following Pokemon<\/a> are pound for pound some of the most powerful in the universe. They can take down Pokemon twice their size<\/a> with a moveset learned by leveling. Although TMs (technical machines) can be used to\u00a0kickstart a Pokemon’s fighting career, these\u00a0examples are inherently strong without the need to expand their movepool.<\/p>\n

While some are baby Pokemon, others are adults that never grew to be large. Although there are numerous examples of Pokemon that are tiny and powerful,\u00a0a select few monsters\u00a0stand out from the crowd. They are the runts of the Pokemon<\/em> universe, yet they can take down massive opponents without impunity.<\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Tyrunt<\/h2>\n

The idea to bring back fossils in the Pokemon<\/em><\/a> mainline series was an ingenious move on the developers. Using the Jaw Fossil in Generation VI, players can regenerate the fossil into a Tyrunt. Tyrunt evolves into a Tyrantrum at level 39.<\/p>\n

Both Pokemon are Rock and Dragon dual-types<\/a>, and they each resemble a prehistoric dinosaur.\u00a0Tyrantrum was the king 100 million years ago, and its base form is powerful as well.<\/p>\n

9 <\/span>Axew<\/h2>\n

This first-stage Pokemon is recognized as a Dragon-type, but it’s also considered a tusk Pokemon. Despite being a Pokemon early in its evolutionary stage,<\/a> Axew can learn powerful moves like Giga Impact, Outrage, Dragon Pulse, and Dragon Claw by leveling up.<\/p>\n

Axew is small but ferocious, and despite its tiny size, this creature can defeat the most formidable Pokemon. Just watch out for Ice-types, Fairy-types, and other Dragon-types.<\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Pikachu<\/h2>\n

Pikachu is the mascot of Pokemon,<\/em><\/a> and it’s a Pokemon not to be underestimated. Despite being a first-stage in its evolutionary chain, Pikachu can become powerful without evolving. Even in the anime series, Pikachu manages to keep up with the mightiest of Pokemon.<\/p>\n

In Pokemon Yellow,<\/em> Pikachu is unwilling to evolve, like in the anime series. Pikachu represents the Pokemon franchise as a whole, proving that size isn’t everything.<\/p>\n

7 <\/span>Riolu<\/h2>\n

According to Pokemon Pearl<\/em>‘s Pok\u00e9dex, “Its body is little yet powerful. It can crest three mountains and cross two canyons in one night.” Evolving a Riolu into a Lucario is not straightforward since it requires a high friendship rating and it can only happen during the day.<\/p>\n

Only under specific circumstances can a Riolu become a Lucario, which is why some opt to use Riolu in its base form. Especially for a baby Pokemon, Riolu has high attack. His fighting moves are on par with other adult Pokemon.<\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Ditto<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

In its untransformed state, Ditto is approximately 1’00” and 8.8 lbs.<\/a> Pokemon scientists are fascinated with Ditto, a\u00a0creature with unknown gender. Ditto has the unique power to transform into opposing Pokemon.<\/p>\n

Ditto studies its opponent’s body type and cellular structure to mimic its appearance and copy its moveset. When transformed, the Pokemon increases its weight. However, Ditto is still considered a tiny Pokemon with extraordinary power.<\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Scraggy<\/h2>\n

This dual-type Dark\/Fighting Pokemon is recognized for its extraordinary power. Resembling a lizard with skin that sags loosely, Scraggy can learn high-damage dealing moves like High Jump Kick, Head Smash, and Focus Punch.<\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Magby<\/h2>\n

In the\u00a0Pokemon<\/em>\u00a0world, inhabited by various creatures, size doesn’t always matter. While a Pokemon like Onix can be taken down by Pokemon a small fraction of its size, others like Magby put up a bewildering fight. The thought of a baby Pokemon taking down an adult is\u00a0evocative.<\/p>\n

Magby is a baby Pokemon, a fact that can quickly be forgotten when it is executing its\u00a0scorching Fire-type moves<\/a>. This Pokemon bathes in volcano magma at the end of a fatiguing day. It evolves into a Magmar at level 30, but it’s the baby form that is the most impressive.<\/p>\n

3 <\/span>Wynaut<\/h2>\n

It doesn’t have the highest attack stats, but Wynaut benefits from high hit points (HP). Using moves like Counter or Mirror Coat can reduce virtually any Pokemon to its knees who lands a heavy attack.<\/p>\n

Wynaut has an uncanny ability to take down enemies who appear much more powerful. Wynaut has found its place in the Pokemon<\/em> world, where a baby Pokemon could defeat an adult Pokemon\u00a0that has higher Special Attack and Attack stats.<\/p>\n

2 <\/span>Cosmoem<\/h2>\n

Looking at the Pokemon based on its weight, Cosmoem is one of the heaviest<\/a>. However, based on its size, it is one of the smallest Pokemon in history. This is a Pokemon that can follow one of two evolutionary paths, transforming into either Solgaleo or Lunala.<\/p>\n

According to Pokemon Ultra Moon<\/em>‘s Pok\u00e9dex, “As it absorbs light, Cosmoem continues to grow. Its golden shell is surprisingly solid.” While it might start small, Cosmoem eventually becomes something big and intimidating.<\/p>\n

1 <\/span>Mew<\/h2>\n

This Pokemon wasn’t formally introduced until\u00a0Pokemon: The First Movie<\/em>,<\/a> yet Mew does appear in\u00a0Pokemon Red\u00a0& Blue<\/em>. It can be found under special circumstances, such as using a GameShark or exploiting glitches in the games<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For its size, Mew is undoubtedly the most powerful. It has stats comparable to its clone, Mewtwo. Mew is small, adorable, and a worthy addition to any trainer’s lineup. Just don’t judge it based on its size.<\/p>\n
