Becoming a firm point of concern for the community\u00a0due to the game’s upcoming\u00a0UI changes,\u00a0Dead by Daylight\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>players have been requesting accessibility options for colorblindness\u00a0for a while now, with many claiming\u00a0the game can be\u00a0challenging to navigate for those with the condition. This is due to scratch marks and auras, two essential parts of the multiplayer horror game<\/a>, being difficult to see for colorblind players alongside\u00a0several other aspects of the UI.<\/p>\n

As of yesterday,\u00a0Dead by Daylight\u00a0<\/em>developer Behavior Interactive<\/a> announced that the team is finally developing a colorblind mode. It seems the\u00a0accessibility mode\u00a0will look to offer three different settings, with options for players with deuteranopia, tritanopia, and protanopia\u00a0colorblindness.<\/p>\n

The feature will\u00a0not be added in the game’s upcoming 4.5.0 patch, with Behavior Interactive claiming that it’s hoping to slot it into the next major update. The new\u00a0announcement\u00a0comes after a recent controversy surrounding one of the game’s developers. Following the release of\u00a04.5.0 on the game’s test realms\u00a0– which effectively act as a beta for each subsequent update before they go live to the entire\u00a0Dead by Daylight\u00a0<\/em>playerbase\u00a0– players began to note their concerns surrounding the title’s newly implemented UI changes<\/a>\u00a0and the effects it could have on colorblind players.<\/p>\n

One fan asked one of\u00a0Dead by Daylight<\/a>‘s<\/em>\u00a0developers a question about these UI issues while he was streaming the game, to which he responded “it’s getting really boring just blabbing about colorblind mode all the time, we’ve heard it a million times.” He continued, “If it gets done, it’ll get done… when we have time to do it, or if somebody decides that it’s something that should be done.” The comments were immediately met with backlash by the community, with Able Gamers’ Steve Spohn addressing Behavior Interactive directly and bringing the clip to\u00a0its attention.<\/p>\n
