Nintendo’s mobile game Fire Emblem Heroes<\/strong><\/em> is once again hosting its annual Choose Your Legends event.<\/p>\n

Since even before its launch, Fire Emblem Heroes<\/em><\/a> has held an event called Choose Your Legends. At the beginning of every year, Fire Emblem<\/em> fans with a My Nintendo account are able to log in and vote for their favorite Fire Emblem<\/em> characters from any game.\u00a0The two male characters and two female characters who get the most votes get special unique variant units in the game with unique outfits and abilities, and once released, players can choose one for free. Previous winners have included fan-favorite characters like Camilla from Fire Emblem Fates<\/em> and Edelgard von Hresvelg from Fire Emblem: Three Houses<\/em>.<\/p>\n

To vote, a player needs to log in with a My Nintendo account. From there, there’s a choice between being presented with a random Fire Emblem<\/em> character<\/a>, or choosing a character by game. If a random character isn’t selected, a screen comes up with all the Fire Emblem<\/em> games sorted by date. From there, the voter just picks the game\u00a0the character is from, and then selects the character they want. The voting takes place over seven days, and a person can vote for one character each day. They can vote for a different character each time, or the same one.<\/p>\n

Like most gacha-style mobile games, Fire Emblem Heroes<\/em> hosts a number of annual events in order to keep its playerbase engaged. This includes events like Fire Emblem Heroes<\/em>‘ recent New Years Banner<\/a>, where players could spend orbs on a chance to unlock special New Years versions of specific characters.<\/p>\n

Characters from the most recent game in the Fire Emblem<\/em> series often get a large share of the votes. Last year, Fire Emblem: Three Houses<\/em> protagonists and fan-favorites Edelgard, Dimitri, Claude, and side character Lysithea won the top four spots. While they’re all ineligible this year\u00a0due to their prior wins, it’s possible the other Three Houses<\/em> characters might win this year, since the game is still the most recent one in players’ minds. The game has also been receiving several updates with new Three Houses<\/em> characters to keep it fresh, specifically the members of the Church of Seiros<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Of course, the first game in the series, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & The Blade of Light<\/em>, released for the first time in English just last year as part of the series’ 30th anniversary celebration. Fire Emblem<\/em> is still selling incredibly well<\/a>, so it’s possible that a Shadow Dragon character might take one of the top spots this year.<\/p>\n

Fire Emblem Heroes<\/strong><\/em> is out now on Android and iPhone.<\/p>\n
