On the surface, Hitman 3<\/em><\/a>, as well as Hitman 1<\/em> and 2<\/em>, looks like your standard stealth action game. While this is true to an extent, there is so much more to the game<\/a> with many systems at play, especially the AI routines and sandbox-style levels<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Due to this, it\u2019s easy to make some mistakes here and there on your first playthrough. Thankfully, Hitman 3<\/em> is a game all about replayability to get every single Challenge and Assassination possible. After reading this list, you can easily go back and make sure none of these happen to you going forward.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Not Picking Up Wrenches, Crowbars, And Screwdrivers<\/h2>\n

Agent 47 can turn almost anything into a weapon if given the chance. There are, however, a select few items that can be useful in other ways. Certain assassination opportunities require Agent 47 to tamper with something that will become deadly later on, such as unscrewing a gas canister next to an explosive barrel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In order to do this, you\u2019ll always need either a wrench, crowbar, or a screwdriver. As such, it\u2019s crucial that whenever you come across one of these items while exploring, pick it up immediately. Wrenches, especially, are necessary for unlocking some of the game\u2019s permanent shortcuts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

9 <\/span>Not Reading The Challenges Ahead Of Time<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The ways to kill your targets aren\u2019t what you\u2019d call \u201cendless\u201d but there are still many creative opportunities. The only way you\u2019ll know about these encounters is if you read the Challenges menu<\/a> prior to starting a mission.<\/span><\/p>\n

These tell you what you should keep an eye out for when traversing the level. When you come across a Challenge that says \u201cEliminate your target as they are evacuating the building,\u201d you\u2019ll now be looking for some way to put this in motion. The game wants you to read these as a sort of jumping-off point to get started.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Ignoring NPC Dialogue<\/h2>\n

There are a ton of ways Agent 47 can dispatch his targets, except not all of them are that obvious. If you come across an NPC having a conversation and the volume gets louder as you get close, chances are this is the game letting you know of something that Agent 47 should be listening for important information.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Some of these may show up in the Intel screen on the Pause menu but this won\u2019t happen every time. It\u2019s important that you listen to what some NPCs are saying and see if they reveal anything that might help with a specific challenge.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

7 <\/span>Trying To Get All Challenges On Your First\u00a0Time Playing A Mission<\/h2>\n

Hitman 3<\/em> is a game for completionists. As you complete challenges in each Campaign Mission, you\u2019ll increase the Mastery Level. Each Mastery Level gives Agent 47 access to new Starting Points and Gear.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Some challenges are more difficult than others and you may not get the opportunity until you unlock new Gear from later missions. For example, you may have a hard time finding lethal poison for a Challenge in the first mission. What you can instead do is keep playing the Campaign and one of the later mission\u2019s Mastery Levels will give Agent 47 a lethal poison bottle that he can now start any mission with.<\/span><\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Not Saving Constantly<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

In a game where you\u2019re trying to pull off the perfect assassination<\/a>, trial and error are your best friends. Some of the more difficult challenges may not always go as you planned. Therefore, the Save button is the best tool Agent 47 has.<\/span><\/p>\n

When things go wrong, instead of having to start way back to the beginning or relying on the Autosave times, you\u2019re better off just saving the game before doing something risky. If you get caught, start over and try again.\u00a0The game encourages experimentation and learning from your mistakes.<\/span><\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Not Using The Camera In Dartmoor<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Admittedly, the new Camera gadget in Hitman 3 is pretty forgettable. That being said, it\u2019s essential if you want to solve the murder mystery in the game\u2019s second mission, Death In The Family<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dressed up as a private investigator, you will be tasked with searching Dartmoor for clues<\/a> on the murder. Most of your clues can be picked up but there are a select few that require you to pull out Agent 47\u2019s new Camera. Just point it around the room and you just might stumble on that one important clue.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Walking Around Freely In A Disguise<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Despite having no personality and a barcode on the back of his bald head, Agent 47 is a master of hiding in plain sight. After you take out certain NPCs<\/a>, you can put on their outfit as a disguise, with some giving you access to areas you would otherwise be trespassing in.<\/span><\/p>\n

A common mistake new players might make is think they are now completely invisible. While many NPCs will still believe your outfit, there are some that are smarter and will be suspicious of Agent 47. This is indicated by the yellow awareness bar. If you\u2019re disguised as a maintenance worker but another worker\u2019s bar starts going up, it\u2019s likely they think you\u2019re someone sketchy (they’re not wrong).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

3 <\/span>Not Destroying Camera Evidence<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

If you\u2019re going for the best possible score, then staying completely undetected is key. What\u2019s really annoying is getting caught by cameras on a playthrough that\u2019s been silent up until that point.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If you are seen on a camera, that will hurt your final score and XP gains because there\u2019s now video evidence of Agent 47. Thankfully, this can be remedied by finding the room with all the video footage and destroying the server with one shot of your silenced pistol.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2 <\/span>Underestimating The Power Of Coins<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Even in a game where you can obtain silenced sniper rifles, explosive rubber ducks, and EMPs, they still don\u2019t hold a candle to the legendary coin. Coins are always available to you from the start as something you can bring into a mission.<\/span><\/p>\n

The coins in Hitman 3<\/em> are still the most overpowered tool in Agent 47\u2019s arsenal. While they won\u2019t do any sort of damage, their mere presence is enough to distract just about anyone. One simple throw in one direction will cause almost every NPC to stop what they are doing and go pick up the coin. Apparently, the mighty dollar truly does win.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

1 <\/span>Binging Through The Game<\/h2>\n

If you\u2019re new to this recent\u00a0Hitman<\/em>\u00a0trilogy, then you may not realize what the true bread and butter of these games are. If you play the game for the story and streamline each mission one by one, you\u2019re only going to get about five to ten hours of content.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Replayability and progression are essentially tied together in these games. Keep in mind, you\u2019re not necessarily doing the same thing over and over again. Yes, your objective will always be \u201cKill this person. Kill that person.\u201d What gives this game a ton of content is how you can get creative and figure out new and inventive ways to take out the target, especially since the more you play the level, the more knowledge you have of its layout and NPC behavior.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
