For any close-range <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/call-of-duty-warzone\/\"><em>Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em><\/a> players bored with using the same gun in all their matches, there is a valid alternative in the AK-74u.<\/p>\n<p>Keeping the series tradition alive, the AK-74u is an incredibly strong weapon in <em>Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em>, with the gun only being improved by the use of key attachments such as the Muzzle Brake 5.56 and the 9.3\u201d Extended Barrel. However, the <em>Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em> version of the AK-74u is a completely different animal, with unique statistics compared to <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-duty-black-ops-cold-ak74u-loadout\/\">the <em>Black Ops Cold War<\/em> version<\/a>. Requiring a separate build to be effective, one reliable source has players covered when it comes to their setups.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-warzone-meta-guns-loadout\/\">Call of Duty: Warzone&#8217;s Best Guns in the Current Meta<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em> loadout expert and <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-pro-nickmercs-quits-tournaments-cheating\/\">FaZe member NICKMERCS<\/a> posted a video detailing his AK-74u build, with the professional player believing that the AK-74u could eventually replace the MAC-10 as the game\u2019s best SMG. His loadout sees the weapon getting major improvements in accuracy, with key additions made to improve the gun\u2019s damage output as well. A quality weapon that works great as a second gun for close-up encounters, the AK-74u may become more prevalent soon.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"200\" height=\"113\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/H11u6iGwa6Q?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Muzzle<\/strong>: Spetsnaz Compensator<\/li>\n<li><strong>Stock<\/strong>: No Stock<\/li>\n<li><strong>Underbarrel<\/strong>: Spetsnaz Grip<\/li>\n<li><strong>Rear Grip<\/strong>: Spetsnaz Field Grip<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ammunition<\/strong>: 50 Round VDV Fast Mags<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Like <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-warzone-nickmercs-mac-10-more-op-guide\/\">other loadouts\u00a0from NICKMERCS<\/a>, accuracy is prioritized, with the Spetsnaz Compensator providing some assistance in this area. No Stock is equipped to the AK-74u, allowing for an immense level of speed at the cost of a hit to accuracy \u2014 with the negatives being negated by equipping the compensator. A Spetsnaz Grip is also added, joining the Compensator and a Spetsnaz Field Grip to complete the trifecta of\u00a0Russian-made attachments.<\/p>\n<p>Rounding out the list is the 50 Round VDV Fast Mag, which gives NICKMERCS\u2019 version of the AK-74u the potential to be fired for longer. With the Gallantry <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/call-of-duty-warzone-mac-10-nerfed\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MAC-10 recently being nerfed<\/a> to remove its pay-to-win status, the groundwork has been laid for future nerfs to <em>Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em>\u2019s standout Submachine Gun. As such, it may be time for players to prepare for this change to the meta, with a switch to the AK-74u allowing players to get some practice in with the rising start of the SMG class.<\/p>\n<p>While <em>Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em> players may be getting <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-warzone-microtransactions-lobby-difficulty\/\">placed into some tougher lobbies depending on microtranscation purchases<\/a>, this AK-74u build should allow them to put up a fight against even the strongest competition.
