There are few limits to what players can do in\u00a0Cyberpunk 2077<\/em><\/strong> thanks to the game’s character customization and bustling Night City, filled with unique characters. However, some modders still aren’t satisfied with\u00a0Cyberpunk 2077<\/em>‘s built-in mods<\/a> and have taken to\u00a0tweaking everything the game has under the hood, such as adding a new “romantic” option with one of the game’s toughest bosses.<\/p>\n

A recent Cyberpunk 2077<\/em><\/a>\u00a0mod has made Adam Smasher a possible romance option, in a broad sense of the term, through which players can see a whole new side to the imposing bodyguard. First posted to Reddit by user booka3oid, the mod seems to give the boss a chipper personality to go alongside the new options to take the character to bed.<\/p>\n

Players can approach Adam Smasher on his own as he waits for customers to come back to a private room that he has reserved for a seeming change in profession. From there, things go as one would expect with this type of encounter, with the characters going back to that private room and exchanging their service for a hundred eddies. It isn’t exactly the most conventional romance in\u00a0Cyberpunk 2077<\/em><\/a>, but it does give a chance to see Adam Smasher in an unfamiliar situation that otherwise wouldn’t be possible.<\/p>\n

The mod itself is a simple trick, pulled off by swapping the character model for a Joytoy,\u00a0Cyberpunk 2077<\/em>‘s version of prostitutes, with the model for Adam Smasher. The model doesn’t stay consistent throughout the encounter, as a heavily damaged, one-armed version of the bodyguard will sometimes be swapped into place. However, simple or not, the result is harrowing, leading many viewers watching the unique\u00a0Cyberpunk 2077<\/em> mod<\/a>\u00a0to declare it a “cursed image,” or reference needing to wash their eyes out.<\/p>\n

As far as mods go, this one is the type that is built specifically for a laugh, even if the implications of Adam Smasher becoming a Joytoy leads down a disturbing rabbit hole. Of course, combining this type of addition with things like a\u00a0third-person view in\u00a0Cyberpunk 2077<\/em><\/a> could make the visuals even worse than what booka3oid has already shown. While players can remain hopeful that no modder takes it that far, it should be noted that as simple as model swapping is, it’s one of the key steps toward getting\u00a0bigger fan-made content in the future.<\/p>\n
