After yesterday\u2019s big reveal<\/a> of Assassin\u2019s Creed Valhalla, we\u2019ve had the chance to learn much more than the name and setting of the next Assassin\u2019s Creed. Our interview<\/a>\u00a0and the trailer<\/a> (plus\u00a0screenshots and an official press release) all give us a better idea what to expect from Ubisoft\u2019s new entry in its historical, open-world franchise.<\/p>\n Fans will undoubtedly want to dissect every little detail and speculate for themselves, but if you just want some of the biggest and most interesting points, we\u2019ve compiled this list of the 25 main things we\u2019ve learned about Valhalla so far.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Click here to watch embedded media<\/a><\/p>\n 1. Eivor is pronounced \u201c\u0100-v\u014dr.\u201d<\/p>\n 2. You can choose whether your Eivor is male or female.<\/p>\n 3. Customization options let you change Eivor\u2019s hair, clothing, war paint, and more.<\/p>\n 4. The game takes place in Norway and England.<\/p>\n 5. England has three major cities to visit: London, Winchester, and J\u00f3rv\u00edk.<\/p>\n 6. You can dual-wield almost any combination of weapons.<\/p>\n 7. Every piece of gear is unique.<\/p>\n 8. Gear can be upgraded and customized, and you can use the same equipment from beginning to end if you want to.<\/p>\n 9. You earn new abilities through a system mechanically similar to a skill tree.<\/p>\n 10. What you can accomplish is more about gear and skills, not character levels.<\/p>\n 11. Words the team have used to describe combat include \u201cbrutal,\u201d \u201ccrunchy,\u201d and \u201cweighty.\u201d<\/p>\n 12. The team is putting extra effort toward enemy variety to keep encounters surprising.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n 13. You have a longship you use to go on raids.<\/p>\n 14. Your longship has a crew, including warriors you can customize.<\/p>\n 15. Assaults are big setpiece moments. They are different from raids, and involve attacks on large fortifications.<\/p>\n 16. You build a settlement that serves as your base.<\/p>\n 17. Your clan and others you recruit live in your settlement.<\/p>\n 18. Hidden Ones and Order of Ancients (a.k.a. Assassins and Templars) are in the game.<\/p>\n 19. At some point, Eivor meets Assassins,\u00a0works alongside them, and uses a hidden blade.<\/p>\n 20. King Aelfred of Wessex (later known as Alfred the Great) is an antagonistic figure.<\/p>\n 21. Layla\u2019s story in the present day continues.<\/p>\n 22. Ubisoft Montreal is leading development on Valhalla. The studio\u2019s last two Assassin\u2019s Creed games were Origins and Black Flag.<\/p>\n 23. Twelve other Ubisoft Studios are supporting Valhalla\u2019s development, along with external partner Sperasoft.<\/p>\n 24. Valhalla is a cross-gen game, coming to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X alongside currently available platforms.<\/p>\n 25.
