After years of fan demand through petitions, social media trends, and memes,\u00a0EA<\/a> finally announced that\u00a0Skate 4\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>was in production, revealing it was resurrecting\u00a0the beloved series\u00a0for its first entry since\u00a02010. The company decided to share an interesting new tidbit of information\u00a0about the\u00a0sequel\u00a0earlier today, revealing that it will be in development at a brand new EA studio called Full Circle.<\/p>\n

The Vancouver-based developer\u00a0was\u00a0confirmed to be taking on\u00a0Skate 4<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>through a press release, revealing that the team will be lead by former-head of Xbox Live\u00a0Daniel McCulloch. He’ll be joined by both\u00a0Deran Chung and Cuz Parry, who were both producers on\u00a0Skate\u00a0<\/em>and appeared in the announcement video for the newest iteration of the series.<\/p>\n

Despite Full Circle being Vancouver-based,\u00a0the press release announcing the decision claimed that\u00a0the studio\u00a0is looking to work alongside “a geo-diverse team,” bringing in employees from all across the globe. It’s apparently staffing up for the new game\u00a0right now, hiring designers, artists, engineers, and more. It looks as though it’s going to be a big production from EA, which is unsurprising considering Full Circle is attempting to capitalize on the lofty fan-demand for a sequel that’s been gradually building since the release of\u00a0Skate 3<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

As for what this new iteration of the\u00a0Skate\u00a0<\/em>series will\u00a0look like, it’s still unclear. The announcement revealed that the game is still in early development, so it seems fans should expect to wait a little longer before Full Circle reveals its grand plan for a long-awaited follow-up. What is general knowledge, however, is that the title will likely look to incorporate\u00a0community\u00a0features\u00a0heavily into the experience.\u00a0The game’s\u00a0Creative Director Chris Parry and Game Director Deran Chung said as much in an interview<\/a>, claiming the previous titles were “ahead of the curve” in terms of social features and the new game would build upon that foundation. Whatever the\u00a0sequel turns out to be, interest in a follow-up\u00a0is still very much alive, as fans continue to demand\u00a0Skate’s\u00a0<\/em>return to screens.<\/p>\n

It seems\u00a0Skate 4\u00a0<\/em>is merely one of the projects currently in early development over at EA, with the\u00a0publisher working with BioWare on a new\u00a0Mass Effect\u00a0<\/em>game that will look to make up for the lackluster reception of\u00a0Mass Effect: Andromeda.\u00a0<\/em>To add to that, BioWare is also developing\u00a0Dragon Age 4<\/em>, DICE is working on a new\u00a0Battlefield,\u00a0<\/em>and the company is allegedly\u00a0announcing\u00a0a new\u00a0Star Wars\u00a0<\/em>game later into 2021<\/a> as well.\u00a0Skate\u00a0<\/em>is easily one of the bigger projects currently on its horizon, so hopefully Full Circle can create a competent new addition to the franchise.<\/p>\n

Skate 4\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>is currently in development.<\/p>\n
