And with the recent release of the newest next-gen consoles, speculation has been\u00a0at an all-time high, with many fans dubbing a potentially enhanced <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/nintendo-switch\/\">Switch<\/a>\u00a0the &#8220;Switch Pro.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It seems that a new rumor about the Switch Pro pops up nearly every week, from the potential console receiving more impressive games, to the possible move from an <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nintendo-switch-pro-oled-screen-rumors\/\">LCD screen over to an OLED screen<\/a>.\u00a0However, while most rumors seem to be focused on the enhanced console&#8217;s possible\u00a0hardware and software capabilities, one new rumor may shed some light on its actual name.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nintendo-switch-rumors-theories-good-bad\/\">All the Evidence For and Against the Nintendo Switch Pro<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>For quite some time, many fans have speculated that the visually impressive Switch-exclusive\u00a0<em>Monster Hunter Rise<\/em>\u00a0would release alongside an enhanced Nintendo Switch console. But over on Twitter, a Brazilian journalist going by PH Brazil explained that the announcement\u00a0of a new <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/monster-hunter-rise-switch-special-edition-pro-controller\/\"><em>Monster Hunter Rise<\/em>-themed\u00a0Nintendo Switch bundle<\/a>\u00a0in Japan means that fans likely won&#8217;t see a revision of the Switch until the next fiscal year, briefly mentioning the name &#8220;Super Switch.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/phluttilippe\/status\/1354266891875921923\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Aside from\u00a0this tweet, PH Brazil has not yet revealed\u00a0any more information about the supposed Super Switch. It goes without saying that Nintendo has had some interesting naming conventions in the past, especially with the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nintendo-3ds-removed-official-website\/\">Nintendo 3DS line of systems,<\/a> and a Super Switch may just be a callback to the company&#8217;s classic Super Nintendo Entertainment System, or SNES. It&#8217;s also worth noting that this isn&#8217;t the first time the name &#8220;Super Switch&#8221; has been mentioned on the social media platform, with another insider claiming in October of last year\u00a0that the sequel to\u00a0<em>The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild<\/em> will be a launch title for the Super Switch.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Tyler_McV\/status\/1317096095659528192\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Ever since its\u00a0initial release, the Nintendo Switch has continued\u00a0to dominate video game hardware sales, even making up <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nintendo-switch-87-japans-console-sales-2020\/\">87% of Japan&#8217;s console sales in 2020.<\/a>\u00a0While some might say that this signals the perfect time for Nintendo to capitalize on the Switch&#8217;s popularity by releasing a new console soon, others might say that a new console revision would only draw sales away from the current Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite, which are\u00a0already extremely popular\u00a0as it stands.<\/p>\n<p>As fans continue to <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nintendo-switch-pro-speculation-price-reveal-release-date-enhancements\/\">speculate about a new Nintendo Switch system,<\/a>\u00a0it looks like Switch owners will have a lot on their plate in the coming months.
