In the past, games such as\u00a0<em>League of Legends<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Valorant<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Fortnite<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>FIFA 21<\/em> have been routinely featured on Twitch Rivals. Trending titles on the other end of the esports spectrum including\u00a0<em>Among Us<\/em> and, recently,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/xqc-twitch-rivals-stream-sniped-why\/\"><em>Fall Guys<\/em><\/a><i>\u00a0<\/i>have also made appearances on Twitch Rivals.<\/p>\n<p>Occasionally, there are games featured on Twitch Rivals that break the normalcy. These are the games that are niche enough in the esports world to turn heads, yet have a grounded enough history to\u00a0showcase years of support. One such title back in November was\u00a0<em>Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3\u00a0<\/em>to great success. Its success was enough to push another fighting game in the spotlight,\u00a0<em>Killer Instinct.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/marvel-vs-capcom-games-worst-best\/\">Every Game In The &#8220;Marvel Vs Capcom&#8221; Series, Ranked From Worst To Best<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>On November 23rd, Twitch Rivals teamed up with popular Twitch streamer and <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/mortal-kombat-11-sindel-gameplay-trailer-reaction-videos-maximilian-dood\/\">fighting game content creator Maximilian Dood<\/a> to host\u00a0<em>UMvC3 Lives<\/em>. The tournament, as the title suggested, aimed to bring\u00a0<em>Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3<\/em> back in the spotlight. The tournament, reaching record numbers in viewership, was a major success. In hopes of replicating the success of\u00a0<em>UMvC3 Lives<\/em>, Maxmilian has partnered with Twitch Rivals once again to host a\u00a0<em>Killer Instinct<\/em> tournament. The tournament,\u00a0<em>BringBackKI<\/em>,\u00a0will broadcast on February 1st at 4 PM PST.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/maximilian_\/status\/1354203843576303616\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Compared to\u00a0<em>Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3,\u00a0<\/em>Rare&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Killer Instinct<\/em>\u00a0has remained stagnant. Released in 2013 as a launch title for the Xbox One,\u00a0<em>Killer Instinct<\/em> was the first game in the series in almost 17 years. Since its launch, despite a healthy community, there has been no news involving\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/killer-instinct-not-in-development\/\">the development of a new <em>Killer Instinct<\/em> title<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It is because of\u00a0its healthy community, however, that the game continues to thrive eight years later. Few have been as passionate\u00a0about\u00a0<em>Killer Instinct<\/em>\u00a0as Maximilian over the years, often regarded as the face of\u00a0the game itself. Much like with\u00a0<em>UMvC3 Lives<\/em>, the intent for\u00a0<em>BringBackKI<\/em> will mean to bring awareness to a game that is long deserving of a sequel in some capacity.<\/p>\n<p>With the release of the\u00a0new\u00a0Arcade1Up arcade cabinets,\u00a0fans of the series are now able to play arcade-perfect versions of\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/arcade1up-x-men-dragons-lair-killer-instinct-cabinets\/\">Killer Instinct<\/a><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/arcade1up-x-men-dragons-lair-killer-instinct-cabinets\/\"> and <em>Killer Instinct 2<\/em><\/a>. While this is a step in the right direction, for many fans holding out on their favorite series, it&#8217;s not enough.
