But that hasn&#8217;t stopped an apparently eager James Gunn to use a throwaway post from a DC fan account as an excuse to answer a few fan queries about\u00a0his upcoming sequel\/reboot\/movie without Jared Leto. Posting a quote tweet expressing his excitement for the film, Gunn noticed that fans had begun replying with their questions about\u00a0<em>The Suicide Squad<\/em>, and he happily obliged.<\/p>\n<p>Many fans posed questions about details that Gunn likely wasn&#8217;t at liberty to disclose at the moment, but he snapped up a few more minor but important points, hopefully setting a few minds at ease. Questions including &#8220;I didn&#8217;t see the 2016 Suicide Squad. Will I be hopelessly lost if I don&#8217;t watch it before seeing yours?&#8221; received his attention, and his response was a quick and affirming &#8220;No, you will be just fine.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/suicide-squad-r-rated-james-gunn-confirms\/\">James Gunn Confirms The Suicide Squad Will Be R-Rated<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Other fans offered thoughts about the release of the film and its trailers, wondering if it would come to theaters as well as when a proper trailer would drop. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JamesGunn\/status\/1354566514754482178\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gunn confirmed the first<\/a>, adding that the whole film was also filmed in IMAX. As for the second, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JamesGunn\/status\/1354564098298503171\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">he expressed his regrets<\/a> that he hasn&#8217;t released a trailer just yet, but that he is currently working on it and &#8220;It will be worth the wait.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JamesGunn\/status\/1354529150061613056\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>One other question concerned not\u00a0<em>The Suicide Squad<\/em>, but another upcoming film from DC rival Marvel,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/thor-love-and-thunder\/\"><em>Thor: Love and Thunder<\/em><\/a>. Since characters from Gunn&#8217;s previous and wildly popular\u00a0<em>Guardians of the Galaxy\u00a0<\/em>movies would be showing up in the latest\u00a0<em>Thor<\/em> sequel, fans were curious whether he would directly consult on it. &#8220;Yes. Have been doing,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JamesGunn\/status\/1354565318639665163\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">he said<\/a>, &#8220;They&#8217;re in great hands with [director Taika Waititi].&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Gunn quickly drew the attention of many of the DC faithful\u00a0when he came on to direct the follow-up to 2016&#8217;s divisive film\u00a0<em>Suicide Squad<\/em>. His various info dumps since then have teased the movie&#8217;s large and star-studded cast, including Idris Elba, John Cena, and even Sylvester Stallone, giving audiences even more reasons to be excited. A good number of fans are also likely excited to see Margot Robbie and Viola Davis reprising their roles as Harley Quinn and Amanda Waller, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>2016&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Suicide Squad<\/em> had its fans too, with some <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/zack-snyder-david-ayer-suicide-squad-cut\/\">rallying for an &#8220;Ayer Cut&#8221; based on director David Ayer&#8217;s original vision for the film<\/a>. While there&#8217;s no telling whether the campaign will be successful, it&#8217;s worth noting that a similar push resulted in HBO <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/zack-snyder-shooting-new-content-for-justice-league\/\">allowing Zack Snyder to create his &#8220;Snyder Cut&#8221; of his own similarly divisive film\u00a0<em>Justice League<\/em><\/a>.
