Had <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/disney\/\">Disney<\/a>\u00a0not acquired 20th Century Fox, the movie would have been a road trip story focused on Deadpool and <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/logan\/\">Logan<\/a>, also known as Wolverine, according to a tweet posted on Reynolds\u2019 official account.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That&#8217;s not all. While mentioning <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deadpool 3<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u00a0Reynolds also makes a reference to a \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rashomon<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> style\u201d. This works as a comparison to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/best-action-movie-directors-rotten-tomatoes\/\">Akira Kurosawa&#8217;s classic<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rashomon<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a psychological thriller, which is the award-winning movie credited for introducing Japanese cinema to the world. The plot focuses on four people offering completely different accounts of the same incident &#8211; a man\u2019s murder and his wife\u2019s rape.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><b>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/star-wars-rian-johnson-han-solo-last-jedi\/\">Rian Johnson Hid Han Solo Easter Egg In &#8216;Star Wars: The Last Jedi&#8217;<\/a><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In his usual quirky manner, Reynolds revealed the tiny detail for his 17 million Twitter followers to see while discussing mental health to support Bell Let\u2019s Talk Day, a day designed to raise awareness on the subject and raise funds for Canadian mental health initiatives. While no other details are offered, the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rashomon <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reference leaves Reynolds\u2019 followers wondering if the plotline could have involved Deadpool and Logan\u2019s different perspectives on the road trip.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VancityReynolds\/status\/1354879654406983680\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deadpool 2<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> arrived on the big screens in 2018, Hugh Jackman\u2019s Wolverine had already <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/logan-hugh-jack-man-wolverine-mask\/\">retired with 2017\u2019s <em>Logan<\/em><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It remains unclear whether Jackman was even approached to discuss the potential sequel in the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deadpool<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> series and whether Reynolds would have shared the screen space with him, considering their <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/hugh-jackman-vs-ryan-reynolds-feud-sams-club-vote\/\">long-time friendly rivalry<\/a>. However, 20th Century Fox was said to be developing <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deadpool 3<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> back in 2018 and it was reported at the time that the search for a director was on. So, fans could have potentially had a chance to see the two friends on the big screen together.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any chance of that ended when Disney officially acquired Fox in March of 2019 though, less than a year after <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deadpool 2<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019s<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> release. The new script will now introduce Reynolds&#8217; eccentric superhero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with filming on the sequel set to begin in 2022. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed <em>Deadpool 3<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/deadpool-mcu-r-rated-kevin-feige\/\">would be an R-rated movie<\/a>, with Reynolds personally providing input on the script that is currently being written by award-winning sister duo <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/deadpool-3-moving-forward-bobs-burgers-writers\/\">Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin and Wendy Molyneux<\/a>.
