Thomas Was Alone<\/strong><\/em>, the indie platformer featuring a ton of puzzles\u00a0and\u00a0a narrator with decidedly\u00a0philosophical observations, is coming to the Nintendo Switch and the first fifteen minutes of gameplay has now been released. The Switch port of\u00a0Thomas Was Alone<\/em><\/a>\u00a0was announced late last year by the game’s creator, Mike Bithell.<\/p>\n

First released as a flash browser game in 2010, Thomas is Alone<\/em> was released in its final form for Windows computers in 2012. It has since gone on to be released on most consoles in the years since, such as the PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox One, and even the Wii U. While the game is a little too niche to generally be included in lists of the previous decade’s best indie games<\/a>, those who have played the bizarre platformer tend to love it.<\/p>\n

Considering the game’s critical reception and love among fans, the Nintendo Switch release seems like it was almost inevitable.\u00a0Nintendo’s current-gen home console has long been a popular hub for some of the best indie releases<\/a>, so the fact that Thomas Was Alone<\/em> now joins other indie titles like Moving Out<\/em> and Hades<\/em> on the semi-portable system\u00a0feels like a no brainer.<\/p>\n
