Every once in a while,\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/wii-u-trending-twitter-why-1-16-2021\/\">Wii U even ends up trending on Twitter<\/a>\u00a0for various reasons. One game studio liked the Wii U so much that it made a holiday-themed game available for the Wii U eShop, but just released it this January.<\/p>\n<p>Ultra Dolphin Revolution is an indie game developer that specializes in retro-styled games for Nintendo consoles. Making games for older consoles isn&#8217;t unheard of, as <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/shapeshifter-kickstarter-stretch-goals\/\">there are studios that still make games for the Game Boy<\/a>. This indie developer has made several action arcade games for the Wii U such as\u00a0<em>Shadow Archer<\/em>,<em> Space Hunted<\/em>, and<em> Spellcaster&#8217;s<\/em> <em>Assistant<\/em>.<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/lego-city-undercover-games-pulled-wii-u-3ds\/\">LEGO City: Undercover Games Disappear from Wii U and 3DS Digital Storefronts<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ultra Dolphin Revolution released <em>Seasonal\u00a0<\/em><i>Assistant<\/i> this week, which is\u00a0a festive spin-off of <em>Spellcaster\u2019s Assistant<\/em>. This magical retro arcade game is currently only on the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/wii-u\/\">Wii U<\/a>. The game has eight holiday-themed levels, and players use different festive magic and power-ups to get through the game. The studio comically tweeted that the game, instead of being late for the 2020 holidays, was just &#8220;super early for the 2021 holidays.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UltDolRev\/status\/1354655672617611267?s=20\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It is interesting the Ultra Dolphin Revolution is releasing games like <em>Seasonal\u00a0<\/em><i>Assistant<\/i> exclusively on the Wii U, even though also releasing the game on a console like the Nintendo Switch would probably increase its playerbase.\u00a0While it&#8217;s unknown how may players will still have access to this game, it&#8217;s a nice thought for the developers to keep adding some new adventures to the Wii U.
