Over time, the show has amassed 23 seasons and counting, taking its central character through various regions where he&#8217;s met a variety of friends and foes.<\/p>\n<p>For many, their central method of watching the seminal anime is through Disney&#8217;s archive, catching the show on\u00a0either DisneyNOW or Disney XD on Demand. Unfortunately, it seems that won&#8217;t be a viable way to keep up with the past adventures of Ash and Pikachu much longer, with <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/falcon-winter-soldier-us-agent-costumes\/\">Disney<\/a> recently dropping the vast majority of the show&#8217;s seasons from both channels.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-anime-gary-oak\/\">Pokemon Anime is Bringing Back Ash&#8217;s Old Rival Gary Oak<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Viewers can still access\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/pokemon\/\"><em>Pokemon<\/em><\/a> season 22 on DisneyNOW and Disney XD on Demand, but seasons 1 &#8211; 21 have officially vanished. No word has been shared on why the show has been pulled, with some even theorizing they&#8217;ll be ported to Disney Plus, but it seems likely that they won&#8217;t be coming back\u00a0anytime soon. In the meantime,\u00a0there&#8217;s still a solid amount of\u00a0<em>Pokemon\u00a0<\/em>content on Netflix, with the streaming service getting the exclusive rights to distribute\u00a0<em>Pokemon Journeys\u00a0<\/em>in America. Perhaps the removal will see the site port over the older seasons of the show now that fans can&#8217;t access\u00a0them through Disney&#8217;s archive.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DisneySchedules\/status\/1356254132391317506\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>As it stands,\u00a0<em>Pokemon\u00a0<\/em>is currently undergoing a resurgence in the public eye, both inside and outside of the gaming space.\u00a0<em>Pokemon Journeys\u00a0<\/em>has acted as a fun, nostalgic slice of anime for fans, bringing back old regions and even Ash&#8217;s ex-nemesis Gary, while\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-trading-card-game-booster-box-auction-price\/\"><em>Pokemon\u00a0<\/em>cards have become a fixture of social media as of late<\/a>, with internet celebrities buying lucrative packs and cards. Meanwhile,\u00a0<em>New Pokemon Snap\u00a0<\/em>is slated to debut\u00a0in April and current rumors are circling the idea of a\u00a0<em>Pokemon Diamond\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Pearl\u00a0<\/em>remake or perhaps a new entry in the\u00a0<em>Let&#8217;s Go\u00a0<\/em>spin-off series during 2021 as well.<\/p>\n<p>Hopefully, the original show can crop up somewhere new and allow players to revisit it while\u00a0<em>Pokemon\u00a0<\/em>remains a hot commodity.
